nice prowler, nice F-14A, nice Turkish F-16C but the engine should be GE not P&W as it appears. This jet is a block 40 engine but the drawing is block 42 engine.

Wowwww, the f-14 and the prwoler looks pretty amazing. I want it nowwwww
This ones are going to be sold sooo quickly.

Good to hear about the strike eagle but, it isn't too different from the previously strike eagle release isn't it?

Did you see the next release too ?
F-16 from Jordanian air-force and a second US eagle from afghanistan, the first release must be hard to find...
Seen on airliner.net :
Quote:
This F-15E is the first and so far the only F-15E to score an air to air kill, where the crew destroyed a hovering Iraqi MI-24 helicopter with GBU-10 bomb during the first Gulf War. Also, this airframe was the first F-15E to break 10,000 flying hours. A historic airframe indeed!
I would have preferred a jasdf eagle from aggressor squadron... too bad.

Otherwise, Iranian and prowler look very nice... even it's not my theme of collection.
But, the turkish F-16 for me...

Desert camo Prowler is a definite for me after seeing an article about a 1/48 kit being painted in the same scheme. F-15E could be time to add one to the collection.

However tempting that F-14 is, it just doesn't fit my collection. The Prowler might be a deal as I saw that one in Bagram though I prefer grey and plain colours. Please a decent USAF single seat F-15 already!!! Looks like the F-111 is the only definite for me.

I'd be in for the Prowler, but I'll pass on the Mullah cat and the gray F-16 theme is wearing pretty thin, that makes like what.. about 30 gray vipers now..??

NB This IRIAF tomcat has a splinter type scheme while the CW one had a more blended traditional desert colour camo scheme.

Ding Hao is a great choice. I Have EI's ding hao which is a little too green. If HM do a good job on this one, I'd take it. I wonder what next month's paired release to this will be .. I'd love for it to be this:

but suspect it might be "Boise Bee" or, if HM get lazy, "Tommy's Dad."

Prowler also cool, but I'm a bit skeptical about HM's ability to put a plausible finish on it. This needs to be even less factory new than 'christine.'

The Gemini 1/72 Ding Hao doesn't have the bubble canopy. Does anyone know if both are correct?

The EI ding hao had the malcolm hood

either with or without is fine, but there are some subtleties. note the markings near the nose in the photo above.

the more i think about it, i was never entirely thrilled with the EI Ding Hao due to the poor fitting wing and slightly off base color I'm very happy HM is doing this.

Damn, this poster is the first one in a long time that could end up really hurt my back-pocket. That's a good thing though, right?

I'm defo up for the MiG, probably the RAAF Pig and no doubt the RSAF F-16C will find its way into my hangar to join the -D already on order

They should have done the Sukhoi-killer Turkish Viper though - much more topical

Prowler and probably the Iranian Turkey ( not a fan of of Iranian jets but by next year year it'll sell for 400% of what it cost for me to buy it ).

I think I have talked myself into the IRIAF Tomcat too since I last posted - I haven't been that interested in ME jets before, but like Iran better (and find it more interesting) than most of its neighbours for many reasons, so this might be where I dive in.

Some of those desert schemes are quite attractive...

Yeah might get the IRAF tomcat just for the novelty of the theme and as an investment

If you get the chance and if it's not too far for you, you should visit Moron AB this week. There should be 6 SJ Strike Eagles in together with 6 USMC F/A-18s!

I'm off to Leeuwarden AB tomorrow. Nice exercise "Frisian Flag" this week. ANG F-15s from MA and CA ANG, French Mirage 2000Ds, Finnish Hornets, German Eurofighters, British Tornados and Belgian and Dutch F-16s.

Nothing for me, though the Prowler looks awesome.

One thing I noticed, French General Leclerc's Willys is inscribed "Mort aux Cons" which translated "Death to ****oles". I thought that was very funny. I'm thinking putting the same inscription on my car.

HM...we 1/72 WWII collectors aren't feeling any love this year. Can you throw us a bone? My collection could use a P-38.

I think HM have been put off a bit by Corgi, probably even more so with the pooch updating their WWII toolings as well as doing another P-38 release.

1/48 is the expected scale to see from HM in terms of new WWII toolings or perhaps another type similar to Boston or Invader if 1/72.

I agree, if we get any WWII from HM, it will probably be 1/48 and not 1/72. I do love their A-20s and we can hope for something like a Hudson to be released soon.

Personally...I would go with the 1/72 Oxford Aviation Models McLary P-38....the scheme is nice:

McLary has a little history....he was also CO of the 77th:

Here's an informative P-38 website:

Der Gabelschwanz Teufel - Assessing the Lockheed P-38 Lightning

Here's similar schemed P-38's planes of the day:
