Default Air Force 1 1:72 F-16 Falcon

My HM F-16 models need some reinforcement, so I'm planning to add a few Air Force 1 F-16 birds to my collection but I need reassurance that the quality is in fact similar or the same as what HM offers... Anyway here is the question I want to ask..

How is the quality of the AF1 1:72 F-16 Falcon Diecast models..?

(A) Terrible
(B) Not to bad if you want to buy a toy airplane
(C) Go for it, the quality is similar to HM
(D) I have no clue & frankly I don't care!!

You're better off making your own decision based on how you feel - it's your collection and your money after all.

That said, somewhere between B and C.

Honest answer: terrible.

They are not a toy manu, if they were and the prices reflected that, I'd say they did a great job then but their not, they are a precision diecast manu and their is nothing precision about their models....

Source: I own 3 AF1 models

I would defo suggest either Dragon or Witty Vipers, fit and finish on the Dragon's are very good and Witty if you forget the fiddley 10 piece MLGs, is not too bad either

Suggestion, Dragon's wolfpack viper was very popular

They're okay but not the same quality as HM. Is there a reason for reinforcement, a particular AF1 livery perhaps?

FWIW they do have a couple of nice liveries, the Texas ANG "Gunfighters" is one that comes to mind, the Luke "Spikes" is another but having grown up in the shadow of the base I'm kind of partial to all the Luke Vipers. The blue helmeted pilots would have to go, and that's assuming you can get the canopy open because none of the pics I've seen show the canopy in the up position. The pitot tube is pretty horrible, but that's a pretty easy fix.

Here's mine fully loaded. I have both the AF1 F-16C and F-16D. They have different weapon loads. so I mixed the weapons from both. I thought the fully decked out mixed weapon load looks real neat (if not that realistic?)

I didn't put on the nosetip which comes with the model since i didn't want to lose it...

It's nice to see AF1 f-16 with the JSOW and JASSM weapons as HM doesn't have them.

One was sold on ebay a few days ago. you can make a req in the wanted/trade forum. However, do not expect to pay less than $100 for it if you can find it.
