You can start by writing FFP's words on a peice of paper so he can eat them, tomato or BBQ sauce ?

non retractable wings because of flags down? dragon wings can make movable flags on the tiny P-51.

considering HM produced CW's very first Tomcats, HM should be the last ones making "rookie" mistakes on Tomcats. Nice try, though. (same to you, UF)

I won't eat my words, as I am right. (like I usually am)

Read my last post, and eat your words. (plus a bowl of something else)

that's completely missing the point, ffp. cw has always got it right. why get it wrong now? and for their 10th anniversary showcase model at that. regardless of what hm did (or rather, didn't do), cw shouldn't have dropped the ball with their anniversary model. period. sure looks like competition has somewhat driven cw to commit schoolboy errors?

its a pity that CW didnt add a compressed nose gear to let the collector have a choice between landing/ take-off option with the flaps down.....considering the fact that flight decks are available nowadays....

That would be a great option, even if the configuration is not perfect for both, the big item would be that extra nose gear, then two options to display. I mean, they're providing to tail hooks so why not. Great suggestion and easy to add. C'mon CW, add that option and you'll make a lot of collectors happy.

I´m much for it, too!
And not only to make collectors happy (which naturally should be a sufficient reason), but primarily because in fact the landing configuration virtually eliminates the option to display this Anniversary F-14 without stand - the model will look unreal and funny sitting in the cabinet with extended landing gears! If there´s extra retracted hook, there should be compressed nose gear included too. I wonder if someone in CW realized this?

with retracted hook, the tomcat could perhaps be taxiing?

that doesn't explain the flaps, though

Ironically, it may look better on HobbyMaster's stand. At least that one isn't in a 30 degree left bank.

E-mail them. I'm sure if enough ppl ask they may listen - although I've read that they mostly ignore comments. No harm in trying, right?

CW appears to ignore collector's emails. I've tried in the past and never received an acknowledgement, let alone an answer to my inquiries.
Only way I got ever got any infomation was to go through ther Mule as their N. American distributor, and even then it took weeks to get an answer...
They screw this 10th Anniv. release up and I'll probably give up on them...ordered two Aardvarks and both arrived with terrible QC, so had to return both - frustrating! Would like to get one, but not willing to go after a third strike!

It does seem the Flying Mule has some influence with CW. If you recall, the Aardvarks had quite a few errors from the pre release pics that were posted. Someone (I think it was SteveNFL?) contacted TFM who then informed CW resulting in a delay to correct the mistakes.

as stated... cw issues 2 options on its tailhook...and during take off/ landings....flaps Always are in a downward position......whats the problem........the front and main landing gears, airbrakes atop the wings, spoilers are supposed to be fully extended if CW really is seriously offering a model with only a landing mode of its F-14 tomcat.... if not....its a fake....

On carrier landings ground spoilers are off... Just airbrake between engines and as option one section of spoilers for DLC. Sometimes could be without both. Greetings!

With 2 options of tailhook - one retracted - my understanding is that CW isn´t really seriously offering a model with only a landing mode IMHO.

oh, surely not! some people (not me) swears by cw replying to all their collectors and not just the chosen few that other manus have been alleged to have a bias towards

marji... i was just trying to explain that one could still display the tomcat with extended landing gears and retracted tailhook as that would be how the tomcat would look while taxiing. the only problem would be that the flaps would not be in downward position during taxiing unless the pilots were doing checks

Bit of news info that was posted on CW website yesterday regarding this model:

Aug, 03, 2016
Modification of CW001619

New released photos of the coming F-14A Tomcat U.S.Navy VF-84 JOLLY ROGERS AJ200 1978 USS NIMITS
Look at this beauty but it is not the final model yet!
Currently the OO number position of tail is printed incorrectly!
Sorry for inconvenience.
So our team is working hard on presenting the best final version soon.
All collectors, be excited and look forward to it!

Today I contacted our national CW distributor resulting in passing this wish/request to CW directly. If you can similarly discuss this matter with your CW distributors, there could be even greater chance.

Looks like this has now landed in the UK.

KH Norton (aka UKBulksales) are now offering them on their website/eBay around £130.

Antics, Jumblies are still showing them sold out on pre-order and there were none showing on Tiger Hobbies own site. Seems popular.

UKBulksales usually put some up for auction to test the market. But they've already sold two today on eBay so they may well hold off a bit yet

Actually this has been out for awhile now, at least in HK, like almost 2 months, reports were that QC was pretty bad, with one collector having to open up many boxes before finding one that was just "OK", Defo don't but this sight unseen
