Talking 18th AS 'Blue Foxes' F-16 Aggressor

These two beauties landed in Whitehorse yesterday on a refuelling stop. I would buy a 1/72 model in this stunning arctic camo scheme in a heartbeat! 86-0314 (the Viper with 354AF on the tail) was done by Witty Wings at one point. Does anybody have one or know if it was any good? These are from the 'Blue Foxes' 18th Aggressor Squadron based in Fairbanks, Alaska. Such gorgeous beasts!

Beautiful model from Witty.

Here is one that I sold about a year ago. To my surprise it sold for US$130 +shipping on eBay. I sometimes regret it, but I expect HM to step up and make one eventually if they're smart.

I haven't found one for sale, but there are close to a thousand of them out there so I'm sure one will turn up eventually. You got top dollar for yours. Nice work! And yeah, Hobby Master should do this plane. May I suggest 86-0263? I'd be happy to display the pair of them.

It is a beauty indeed. I've been searching for it for a couple months now with no success, but I figure one will turn up eventually. As for HM making one... well let's just say I won't be holding my breath, they seem content to just crank out the umpteenth grey viper that looks more or less like the other couple dozen or so they've already done.

Yup, gorgeous paint scheme! Must have been quite the treat to see those two beauties arrive where you live.
'Blue Foxes' Viper Aggressor by HM would be a welcomed release!

Bit confused... Zendocon's fabulous photos of the two 'Blue Foxes' Viper Aggressors from Fairbanks AFB show the arctic camo scheme as having the darker 'navy' colour while Skinner67's example of the model has, what appears to be, 'black' as the prominent colour for the arctic camo scheme. Can anyone explain this or are there two different arctic camo schemes for the 'Blue Foxes' Aggressors...??

OK, here's a couple shots I found of 'Blue Foxes' Aggressors out of 'Eielson' AFB, AK. There appears to be two, or perhaps even three, different arctic camo schemes used by these Vipers, but the darker colour, black or navy, is still a mystery. Could be the light condition is making the navy look black or perhaps there are indeed three different schemes used by the 'Blue Foxes'. If this is the case, my choice would be the scheme shown in Zendocon's photos with the 'navy blue'. Very cool!

Zendo's pics are ok but not the best for seeing the color accurately . It should be black, here's a much better hi res pic. Witty got the color on the Arctic Bandit right. There's only two schemes that I'm aware of, the blue one and the black one, there is no third "dark navy blue" scheme as far as I know.

On every screen I've viewed these pics on, they don't look navy at all. Dark black, grey and white arctic camo. Glad my photos are "ok," but no colour corrections were done and it was shot with a Nikkon SLR. That's exactly how they look. Perhaps your screen's colour needs to be adjusted?

I wasn't trying to sound critical of your pics, they look just fine and the color appears black to me as well. Perhaps you're right that hue or tint on on his monitor is off.

Thanks for clarifying and I'm starting to love that white, grey, "black" arctic camo. Must say the white, grey, blue is pretty cool as well.

Your photos look black to me as well - no blue at all.

I purchased this model when it was released. At the time some were critical of the shape of the nose - but I personally don't see an issue.

Nice pic Dan. The loadout really complements the beautiful camo on this model, I can't wait to lay my hands on one..

Can't explain why my screen was showing "navy blue" as the colour on Zendo's Aggressor photos yesterday but they look "black" this morning. Might need my eyes checked. I like Dan's pic of the Witty Aggressor and would be happy with one myself - nice detail and loadout.
To be clear, when I said I also like the Aggressor with "blue", I was referring to 18th "Blue Foxes" Aggressor Squadron with the lighter blue arctic camo. Both schemes are very nice IMO and would display well together as "HM" releases. Hey, someone out there in "HM Land" might read these posts so might as well plant a seed or two.

Might be overkill, but just a few more fabulous photos of the F-16 "Blue Foxes" Aggressors out of Eielson AFB, AK.

Heck, it's just up the road a piece, hop in the go-cart and pop up one day. Whitehorse and the Yukon are high up on my list of favourite travel destinations; they must be I've gone up there for vacation four times!

I would bet flying over those beautiful northern vistas, strapped in a Viper, would be far more exciting than bouncing along in a go-cart

I would love to pop a few AK aggressors along with the AK F-22 I have on display. All for them.
