HM F-35 Canopy...
Anybody know why the HM F-35 comes with two canopies...?? I got one in today and I noticed right away there is one on the bird, and one in the accessory tray. I assume this is one for open position and one for closed... If that's the case it's OK I guess, but I think I would have preferred a hinged one. Does HM do the two canopy arrangement on most of their models..?? I only have 2 other HM types on display at the moment, the F-18 and F-16..., the F-16 appears to be hinged and the Hornet seems to be an open or closed option type.

Re: HM F-35 Canopy...
HM seems to be moving away from the hinged canopy. Seems like the only ones hinged anymore are the F-16, F-22, F-102, rear canopy of the F-4, and F-105. The F-106 started off hinged, but then changed with HA3603 (Spirit of Jacksonville).
The only time the 2 piece open/closed arrangement bothers me is when the canopy open angle is wrong (like the F-18, too far open). But it's so, so, so much easier to insert the pilot figurine when the canopy is removable... |

Yes, one is for the closed position and the other is for the open position
