Default Century A-6 Intruders

Anybody know an online retailer in the US that carries the Century A-6 Intruders..?? The only one I can find is Aikens, and they carry only the VA-145 Swordsmen KA-6D tanker, I would really prefer to get one of the attack versions if possible. Any info and/or leads are appreciated.

You may want to post this in the For sale/Wanted section as a fellow member may be able to direct you to some Intruders

I will, but I generally try to get some of our members, who often times know retailers I don't often use, to respond with leads to domestic dealers that might have what I'm looking for in stock.

Generally speaking, a post in the for sale/wanted section will get you a response for someone who has a personal example for sale, often times in a foreign country.

I doubt that you'll find one through a retailer.

Not impossible, but these have been sold out for years.

Your best bet is to find one through another collector.

I wish I could find some more too! I got the KA-6D from Top Gun in Akihabara last year for $40. That was the only version they had at the time.

I picked up a Sunday Puncher(001602) on eBay a few months ago for $137. just to give you a gauge of pricing if that helps at all.

eBay Ebay eBay!!

I was also looking on this forum for anyone selling CW A-6 models too but I ended up purchasing two on eBay... You just have to keep looking on eBay from time to time & sometimes you are lucky & find one for a good deal...

Thanks for the replies and suggestions guys. I actually had checked ebay for several days before starting this thread, but there were only a couple and they seemed pretty high. Aikens has the VA-145 Swordsmen KA-6D for $116 which seems like a pretty good deal, but I really wanted an attack bird, not a tanker. Anyway, one of our members (supersphinxman) saw this thread and PM'd me last night, and we struck a deal for a VMA-332 Moon Lighters A-6E, he's not far away from me so I should have it soon, thanks Reggie...

Here's one on a UK site. Not cheap at 75 pounds plus shipping. But available.

Details: A-6E Intruder - VMA-121 Green Knights VK10, US Marines

Is that planecrazy.biz a proper online shop? The design looks very unprofessional if you ask me. I would have a very hard time ordering from them.

There is an Aussie store called Jetbreath that has some as well. I've bought from them before with no issues.

Moonlighters is a nice catch, one of the best of CW's A-6's to me, right next to the Green Knights as the top two. EBay seem to be about the only way to go at this point, sometimes you can get a great deal but you just have to keep watching the site.

Just found a brand new in box A-6E VMA-121 Green Knights for $108 delivered. It's coming from Hong Kong, but I've not had any issues so far with models I have received from HK. Is this a reasonably good deal..?? What do you guys think..??

Friendly advice: in case it should be from Lacorun hobbies, try to ask for good packaging if posssible. Read more here.
I can confirm that they (in 2014) were using slightly less rigid cardboard boxes than usual. Mine delivery (1 model) arrived damaged too, fortunately only very slight damage to the model box.

Thanks for the tip. I've bought several models from them (Lacorun), they use the ebay username "modelarena", I never had any issues with their packing and they ship fast. Have also bought from Hong Kong Models on ebay, similar experience but their shipping was slower. This one was purchased from a Chinese seller on Aliexpress, I have no experience with them, they had a feedback rating in the upper 90's out of 8000+ sales, but we'll see.

Yes. Agree the website is not the best. I just bought a CW A-6 from them and they shipped it to me in California. received it today and the box and model are new and flawless.

Maybe it is a proper online shop, but planecrazy tried to pass off a HM Polish MiG-21 Fishbed as new, when it was clearly used (caked on dust on the nose cone, and a severe scrape on the vertical stabilizer - which was not in the photos he posted when I purchased and in addition when asked if it was new).

I'll try to post (my own) pics later on if I have time.

However, I asked for a partial refund - I didn't get the amount I asked for, the reason being that he gave me like $3 US off beforehand during the sale. I took the partial refund he offered which was not what I asked because that was all that he was gonna give me. I doubt I'll get 50% of what I paid for when I sell it later on. (I paid quite some money, definitely over MSRP). I didn't return it because it would be a waste of my own money shipping it back to him.

So I would warn potential customers to just be extremely cautious, and avoid him unless you're sure it's not a lemon.
I'm sure some of you had positive experiences with planecrazy, but definitely not me, so this is just my 2 cents.

I have to admit I'm a little surprised HM hasn't jumped into this market yet. Its probably one of the few Grumman aircraft that actually saw widescale use in the NAVY that they haven't done yet.

Then again they just announced the EA-6B Prowler so maybe the A-6 isn't far behind.

I did order from them a few times actually and have always had very good service and fast delivery. That’s where I got two hard to find Gemini Aces Spitfires.

I think the guy’s name is Chris.

Planecrazy is indeed legit. They have on occasion commissioned code 3 models using Corgi and HM brands. Very good for hard to find or long out of production models. However the price will be quite near the top end.

I wish HM would do the A-6 so we might finally see some Vietnam War liveries. The A-7 and F-8 would be nice too. Lots of great ones yet to be done. Still waiting on my Clansmen Gulf War A-7...
