Talking My first USAF fighter jet!

So today I got my first military jet fighter. It's from Air Force 1 Models, F-16 out of Luke AFB. Needless to say that I love it, and I thought I would share this model with everybody. As some of you may know I am joining the Air Force, and one of the aircraft I might get to work on is a F-16 and the possibility of being stationed at Luke AFB as well. That is why I started collecting some 1:72 USAF aircraft, I also have one more F-16 from Aviano AB on order.

hey that is one cool model you got there, I like how sleek it looks, it captures the shape of the real F-16. AF1 models have more metal to it than other brands, and personally I like how AF1 handled the intake on the F-16, you see no gap between the intake and the jet's body. Canopy is also correctly shaped.

Congratulations on your first (of what will no doubt be many) fighter models. I also wish you all the best in the USAF!

Thank you, it really is a beautiful model. I really love that it's the two seated variant, it was the only diecast one available when I was looking.

Nice F-16 and congrats on getting in. My theme for collecting mostly is bases that we have been stationed at. The only base I dont have represented is bitburg...still working on finding one. I have Myrtle beach and Eglin covered...also have Hurlbert field and Tyndall that Ive been to many times covered, need Duke though.

Some time ago I sold a military model (can't even remember which one) to a fellow who shared with me that he had worked on that specific squadron while deployed during the Vietnam war. I was very pleased to know this veteran had a very personal connection to the model.

I have two nephews who are in the Air Force, one in the reserves and the other in ROTC at the University of Colorado. So if you end up enlisting know that there are many who are already grateful for your service. We are a military family as well with my older son serving as an officer in the U.S. Army and currently stationed at Eglin AFB where he is in EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) school.

The F-16 is one of my favorite models, the one I have bought the most of. A great aircraft model to start off with. Congrats on the acquisition.

I have the 180th fighter wing F-16s flying above my house weekly. As a local private pilot, I have been around them for safety seminars and on the tarmac, just an awesome aircraft.
