Default My Single Engine WW2 Attackers

In the 1930s many countries developed single engine attack planes---either dive bombers, low level light bombers or torpedo planes----as one air force vied with potential rivals to be ready for action if war came. Some of these, such as the Northrop A-17, never saw action, while others, such as the Vultee V-11, were turned down by their original backers---in this case by the USAAF----and wound up fighting for someone else----in this case, Nationalist China.

I have quite a few replicas of such planes and I thought that some members might find a few of interest. I promise to go lightly on the Stukas.

We start with a 1:72nd scale Easy Model plastic rendition of the Russian IL-2---a later version with cannon pods under its wings. This is a code 3 model, btw:

I love the IL-2, my favourite Soviet WW2 bird by far. Would love to see a Pe2 by someone like HM too! Nice to see a Blackburn Skua too.

Very cool. I am embarrassed to say I like collecting planes but don't read up or research images of them so many of your models are new planes I have never seen. I have never seen a Skua before.

Thanks. Ryan. The IL-2 was one of my eBay buys. It's surprising what quality you can find---at reasonable prices---on eBay if you are careful and ask for more pictures than the seller is showing in his first posting.
