Default My Oscars

No, I'm not an actor with lots of awards. I'm referring to my collection of Japanese Ki-43s, or "Oscars" in the Allied code. These nimble fighters were the backbone of the Japanese Army's fighter squadrons for the first two years of WW2 and continued the fight on all fronts until the end----despite the arrival of better and more heavily armed types like the "Tojo", "Frank" and "Tony".

Anyway, here are most of mine, starting with a code 3 on the latest release by Oxford, using molds developed for the Atlas Editions subscription line:

Thanks, guys.

Regarding the skill it takes to do code 3s, all I can say is that if you are dedicated and willing to work at it, you can do it. To demonstrate my point, here's my first paint job---of a WW2 ID model----done about 22 years ago. At the time, I thought it was the cat's meow----which it certainly wasn't. But I kept working at it and am now a fairly competent code 3 guy:
