Wishing for more Vietnam era aircraft in 1:72

HM released some great models during the last years, from Skyraiders, Super Sabres, Thunderchiefs to Phantoms with gun pods. I wonder why this range isn't continued?
Sure, a Bronco won't sell like the n-variant of a Phantom mold, but what about a Skyraider variant? A multi-seat Skyraider perhaps? Or a A-37 Dragonfly?

Fans of bigger stuff like C-123s or AC-119s (yessss) will never attract enough interest of course (CW's SR-71 being a nice exception regarding the necessary real-estate required to display) and don't get me started on a B-52...

What is your opinion? Would you like to see HM or other manufactures to release some down-to-earth aircraft in the South East Asia (SEA) scheme or continue the trend to modern, mostly grey (and dull :D) high-end aircraft like F-35s, SU-34s (notable exception here the upcoming Vigilante)?

Cheers
Chris

Re: Wishing for more Vietnam era aircraft in 1:72

I have an extensive Vietnam War theme in both 1:72 and to a lessor extent 1:48.

What I really want is for Corgi to wake up and realise that the world is not flat and that there are other countries on the planet, so they can release a 1:72 RAAF Canberra, 2 SQN Phan Rang AFB.

The SQN has more operational experience than any Canberra unit in the world and possibly, from what I can gather, the most combat experience of any Bomber SQN, between WW2 and the first Gulf War.

Its a gimme.

We are all waiting for the MIG17.

I'd like to see some DHC-4 Caribou. Both USAF and RAAF Caribous served in Vietnam.

For all that is holy....can we get some UH1Ds out and about in 1:72??

The other big two, are F105F/Gs and the RF101C Voodoo.

I think Vietnam has gotten way more attention then say the gulf war but you can never have enought SEA aircraft.

I'd like to see some of those types meantioned above, especially the mig17

Nice collection, EMD. Looks like you might need a bigger display case for some AC-119's and C-123's. :)

I agree with everything that you said, C. I know a lot of people who are waiting on that RAAF Canberra.

More USMC and USN Vietnam era stuff is welcome as well, but maybe not in green camo (at least for a while).

RAAF Canberra supporter here too, Would love to put something next to my RAAF Hueys and Centurion, a Canberra would be perfect. An M113 APC would be very popular too, a Long Tan version would compliment the Long Tan Huey.

The other options for ADF collectors would be a Vietnam RAN Wessex or Huey. But I suspect they would be more popular with RAN/RANHFV collectors rather than Vietnam theme collectors. I know EasyModel started advertising for a RAN Huey in blue and white, but it has never materialised.

I'd love to see some SVNAF Skyraiders from the Camo versions to the early Navy Gray versions with the colorful artwork. Then an OV-10 and MIG-17.

It'd be sweet if they made a SAM site.

A-1E Skyraider's are also welcome, particularly Col. B. Fisher's:

Pretty sure the B26K is not far away mate. A couple with the current tooling to go and then onto the Vietnam War stuff.

Maybe this year.
