but for the real aircraft depicted in this model (prototype 2 bort number 902) it should still has the pitot tube under the back of the canopy. 2 on each side.. therefore i think the dark grey su-35 is spot on..compared to this one..

the problem is, AF1 creating mould from production model of su-35, but producing a model with prototype scheme.

hello, before my first post above, i posted something using quick reply, but it did not appear in the thread..it says something about needing approval from admin. so i think i'll post again here:

i think the color of this model is very not accurate..for example in the vertical stabilizer, elevator and especially in the underside of the plane.
if you look it up in google, the underside should has the same camo as the upper surface of the plane, but in this model is plain grey

for the stabilizer and elevator the camo has different color and shape than the original plane. and it should has knaapo logo in the stabilizer.
the difference of camo in stabilizer and elevator is not a deal breaker for me, but the underside is definitely a turn off for me..

and this camo is only used on su-35 prototype number 2 with bort number 902, so bort number 21 is not exist with this camo..or maybe that's the reason they use imaginary bort number, because the camo is also imaginary..

so i think the su-35 model with dark grey scheme is more accurate in terms of scheme and bort number, it has bort number no 08 and accurate color and marking of su-35 production model.

you can check the color here:
su-35 camo
su-35 dark grey

for this camo in particular, the red star should has no blue color, just red and white..for production model it has white, blue, and red color.

once again the dark grey scheme of this model is spot on compared to this one.

IŽll bring my diecast colection with me ...

A lot of AF1 haters out there, but I'd say this is a very good sign for a relative newcomer to the market. The model itself looks very good. Better than attempts by more 'successful' companies so far.

The poor paint work is indeed a shame, but I'd imagine this is one of the easier parts of production to improve over time - a mould is a mould and very expensive to change. Design is design as as HM's F-35 shows, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig - if it's an ugly model to begin with, no amount of paint and finish can save it.

I won't be buying this one myself due to said paint issues but I'm happy to see AF1 making major improvements with this release. No screwholes (that I can see?), no huge rivets. The detailing is damn near perfect as far as I can tell.

Thanks for sharing, MKF.

AF1 has defo stepped up their game for once and made a very nice Su-35, only the said paint work is a let down and your right, they can improve on that, a mould is usually their to stay so if it sucks, it's sucks the entire production line.

That said, I have put in an order for a few AF1 models, I was able to inspect them at Hobbyco but no way was I going to pay double then what I can get it from overseas for, also $150aud for a Viper, which let's face it, is abit of a shocker is abit much, I sure hope newbie collectors don't get bitten

Wow. Hobby Co were asking $150 for a AF1 Viper? And they wonder why they don't sell much diecast?

These AF1 models keep getting better. I do wish they made more details in the weapons, but I could always do that myself.
