This is exactly the color scheme I would like to have in my Su 27 family...but again I very doubt.

They are just killing another attractive model with their insane riveting and moreover the tail color is hopelessly wrong too. The "08" Flanker flew into China in November 2014 on Zhuhai Air Show, and probably from here came the idea to make "08" although otherwise "07" SU-35S is much more famous around the "rest of the world".
And even though AF1 people could see this a/c in vivo, they still were not able to catch the tail colour right!

For comparison I´ve attached hires picture of the AF1 "08" below.

It´s a sad story because otherwise in general - fuselage, nose and spine shape seems to be OK. And also I do not see that terrific blue HELLmet in the cockpit.

It's funny. I remember talking to a Marine buddy at work who did some exercises with the German Mig 29's. He said the rivets were so pronounced that it looked like a Tonka toy.

Just like their T-50, colour scheme is a little off and the paint is too glossy. You can find many pictures on Chinese sites.

There's another one in 1:48 by some other Chinese manufacturer, but the missiles don't appear to be correct:

Tail stinger looks off to me (on both die-casts). Appears to taper inwards too much.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for them. At least AF1 appear to be giving the option to attach the ordinance load and wheels up/down.

In general I consider AF1 to be overpriced for the quality. But the more Su & Migs available the better. It would be interesting to see how they compare to what else is already available. My Gaincorp Su 27 could use a companion

Looks more like the egg plant scheme being used on some Russian jets these days
Called eggplant i believe due to it being similar colour to aubergine purple

Hello everyone:

By Ebay I see the AF1 SU-35 "21" with chipping camouflage.

Seen from afar looks correct, but if take zoom in the picture look an horrible paint job, and I would almost say worse than the T-50.

Can anyone provide more information or some more detailed photos?

It is a pity to spoil a model with much interest in issues of poor execution of paint.

Greetings.

Sure, they are good, but the gear doesn't seem accurate.

I think I will do so, as half of my military fighters are on their display, gear up... Anyway, this is a nice plane that we never could have before. Indeed, after regarding details on pictures in Flying Mule website, the gear seems improved.

OMFG will HM just come out with a Su-27 already !!! These AF1 peices of crap are not helping the soviet cause with these poorly painted and inaccurate models

Or will someone decent bring the Witty moulds back to life!!!!

I can just see it now, HM will say based on AF poor soviet sales, they will 100% never do another soviet model again

So you would rather AF1 or HM make these sorts of models ?

I don't need to wait for anyone's review to see with my own two eyes that this model by AF1 is very average, they make Gaincorp models look like prized models and Witty the military equivalent of Herpa Premiums

Looking forward to your review.
Can you please check, if those "too glossy surfaces" are due to wrong choice of gloss colors or if its maybe just some oil stains which can be wiped off? (as was a case of my 'Lone Star Gunfighters' F-16).

The red stars should also not be blue and red....

Not to mention that if you had a problem with HM's Eagle nozzles, you'll defo have a problem this those "things" that are meant to be nozzles on this model. And the heat shield (?) isn't black either.....

Apart from the silly Chinese interpretation of "live" missiles, the 1:48 model posted above looks a lot better, who makes that one ?

looks nice, my Witty Su-27, A-4, and Witty F-15 all took dives off their witty stands I only have the AF1 J-15, aside from the lack of detail, the model is nice enough and the stand is quite strong. I like the heft of it as well. I may be looking to sell most of mine if this nose diving trend continues. I don't think the AF1's will have the problem though, they did a good job to ensure they won't fall.

I had a Witty Tomcat fall onto another from its stand as well - screw pulled out of its threads. Thinking I might have to add some lock-tite or something to the screws when I display.

After sleeping on it, I'm going to pre-order the A model. I don't have a large collection and the blue A model will be pretty unique. And I already have two Russian "camo's".

Plus, I will get a 12% discount on the pre-order.

Mar_ji, can you please confirm, if the glossy surface of your dark blue SU-35 is really a glossy color, or if it is maybe just oil from the factory, which can be wiped off and the colour underneath is matte? (This was a case of my 'Lone Star Gunfighters' F-16 from AF-1 - glossy surface could be wiped off by a swab).

the surface of the upper fuselage is glossy...not too glossy though....but applying a Model Master Dullcote which may be available in some hobbyshops will do the trick.....even using a hobby paintbrush will do....no stripes can be seen

Recently bought 3 AF1 models, 2 have defects and quality is generally pretty rubbish, will never buy another AF1 model again and I suspect most collectors will feel the same.

AF1, instead of writing all that bull***** about producing a "quality" model on your box, how about you ACTUALLY PRODUCE a quality model THEN you can write that rubbish on your boxes

I'll be waiting for HM's flanker if not, happy to leave the $$ in my pocket then waste it on AF1's rubbish

Glossy colour. OMG. Another stupid move from AF1, another spoiled aircraft by AF1, I´d like to say.
On the other hand - on SOME bright sunshine photos (like here, here, here and here) it looks almost like semi gloss.
I really don´t know. On 99% of photos is this SU-35S matte.

Anyway thanks for info, mar_ji.
