388 mods are part of the magnetic anomaly detector (MAD) sub hunting gear. My dad took most of those pics.

RAAF OP FALCONER F-18.

JASDF Blue Impulse Sabre. HM have produced all the other variants, so this would seem like a logical progression.

FAB Esquadrilha de Fumaca T-6 Texan. I think this scheme may have been better than the plain FAB trainer scheme.

Hmm, a 1/48 P-39 and P-40 would be nice, maybe a 1/48 B-25 too?
Wouldn't mind a Russian A-20G either.

Strangely lacking in HM's fleet of F-104s are some decent Italian air force Spillones.
I'd settle for at least a couple, both with the large white codes and colourful marking and the more toned down markings.

As for a 'new' 1/72 release with a lot of Liveries - B-58 Hustler. It would be about the same size as the Arrow or TSR-2.

I'm not big into that particular period as far as diecast models are concerned, but the B-58 would make for a damn impressive piece.

The latest RAAF F-18 scheme sports an indigenous Australian 'Worimi' scheme. Similar schemes on the Qantas jets are quite popular.

The B58 in 1:72 (or 1:144) is probably the top of my dream list.

But unfortunately it only served in two Wings and they are all (other than the prototype) NMF with the only distinguishing feature being the SQN band across the nose.

Unlikely for HM and to be frank I think I'd rather CW.

How about the mighty USAF T-6 Texan II? You could easily market it to UPT studs who are always in the market for models, and it would give them another option other than the wooden ones.

This is a great idea. As Oxford has recently released plans to produce a Shorts Tucano for the British market, a Texan II would be a great addition to the HM model bank, with users such as the USAF, USN, Canada and Israel.

And if HM demonstrate further forethought, they will cast the mould with the ability to also cater for the Pilatus PC-9, the aircraft the T-6 Texan II is based upon. The subtle difference between the two is the canopy and a rear strake. It would cater for the RAAF market and at least 10 other countries.

Compare this list to the Shorts Tucano list of operators: UK, Kenya and Kuwait.

If Oxford can see the profitability in the Tucano, surely there is market profitability for the Texan II/PC-9.

I'll take an early Army green OV-1 over the OV-10, to be honest.

Yeah dude, there must be a market for PC-9's (and the Texan II's). They were used all over the world - even New Zealand's got them now.

I would absolutely buy both of those. The Tutor is a difficult sell for Hobby Master because, even though there are a ton of great liveries, they are almost exclusively Canadian (with a Malaysian exception). Maybe if the Canadian Warplane Heritage got behind it like they did with the Arrow, it would be more likely. I would LOVE to see the Golden Centenaries represented too:

And the Texan II would be a fantastic release! I'd love to have the Canadian version, the CT-156 Harvard II, to go alongside the Hawk from Falcon:

Interesting enough, the CT-156 has been mentioned over the years as a possible replacement for the Tutor for the Snowbirds, although the Hawk seems more likely: Snowbird Aircraft Replacement Project ( SARP )

The Epstein F-16 (Israeli IDF would be a great one just for the highest number of kills.

Would not mind seeing another aircraft that flew with Netz 107 in the Iraq nuclear plant raid by Israel, Have a feeling in a few months, might see another same type raid happening:

Finally, keep hoping HM will continue with the National Guard F-16's, The Toledo 180th:

Hi Bill,

I've seen a picture somewhere with the boom deployed. I can't remember if it was in a book or my dad's stack of pictures. I'll keep an eye out for it, but I can't hold out any promises; my dad's photos were spread all over among the siblings when he passed away. It'll be in the archive in Ottawa though, again, somewhere, and maybe with the museum at CFB Shearwater too.

Cheers,
Roy

I would definitely buy these as well .... As for difficulty of selling, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that if they do a decent sized run that they would sell out quite easily. I would bet that a number of collectors would buy 9 of the tutors to put in a formation setting - I would definitely consider it myself.

But the early MK A20 had such a wonderful diversity in schemes over various theatres.

There is speculation that Corgi also are considering the early A20.

The other one I'd like to see is the Hudson or Ventura in 1:72.

I wont discuss the three remaining well known Blighty twins that have not been tooled up yet (Hampdon, Whitley and Beaufort), as its unlikely HM would ever consider them.

Pardon my ignorance, but I saw a pair of the above RNZAF Texans at the Australian International Airshow on the weekend and wondered why they even had them? Aren't these sort of trainers used for pilots as a lead-in to fighters these days? I don't believe RNZAF has any in their possession any more? Or are they used for lead-in training for transports and the like to?

Either way, they're a very nice looking aircraft in the RNZAF colours.

The RNZAF has bought a dozen or so to use them the same way other air forces do... as basic trainers

Aircraft like the Hawk are lead in trainers for modern fighters & as we both know sadly the RNZAF no longer has that capability since the Aermacchi's & A-4's were sold over a decade ago by Comrade Helen

I agree, that is a great livery for HM's F-18 mold. HM ha so many great liveries to create, from the suggestions here, they could fill almost 6 months of production alone.

I would also love to see an A-10 livery without a shark/snake/hog nose graphic on it.

For what it is worth guys, a knowledgeable source told me that HM looks for a likely minimum 10,000 unit lifetime run before doing a new mold. This means lots of liveries - and no HM Snowbird Tutor fleet....

Those CWH Arrows did not account for 10,000 units so I'm not sure your knowledgeable source is 100% accurate on those figures. Even so, there are a ton of liveries for the Tutor and William at HM was reportedly even interested in the CF-100 at one point, so anything is possible. I can think of fourteen liveries that would be worthwhile doing right off the top of my head. 1000 each of just ten of these would easily beat that target:

1. Early RCAF livery
2. CAF livery "The Big 2"
3. Original CAF Snowbirds livery (1971-73) "The Big 2"
4. CAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds (1978-1986)
5. CAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds with revised logo (1987-1992)
6. CAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds revised livery (1993-2010)
7. RCAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds current livery (2011-current)

Would there be a thousand collectors to sell all these variants to?

That's a little bit presumptuous...

I can think of fourteen liveries that would be worthwhile doing right off the top of my head. 1000 each of just ten of these would easily beat that target:

1. Early RCAF livery
2. CAF livery "The Big 2"
3. Original CAF Snowbirds livery (1971-73) "The Big 2"
4. CAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds (1978-1986)
5. CAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds with revised logo (1987-1992)
6. CAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds revised livery (1993-2010)
7. RCAF 431 Sqn Snowbirds current livery (2011-current)
8. Red Knight
9. AETE
10. Golden Centennaires
11. Central Flying School
12. RCAF 75th Anniversary
13. NATO 50th Anniversary
14. Malaysian Airforce

I would definitely be on the pre-order list as the Tutor in any livery would make an excellent addition to my burgeoning collection. I know a number of collectors that would be "itching" to get their hands on these

It would attract some interest in Europe as well as some NATO countries did their jet training on the Canadian Tutors (probably in a deal after the purchase of the F-5).

Spanish Hornets would be interesting as well.
