Would like to hear opinion of ´insiders´ and those with good contacts to HM:

How would you estimate the possibility of making SU-30SM (2seater Flanker with canards) by HM, or any other diecast manu?

(Strange thing - not even plastic kit manufacturers are making SU-30SM in whatever scale. Known operators are RuAF and Kazakhstan, next year will join Belarus which makes some 7-8 possible liveries incl. prototypes and Russian Knights.)

Hmm. Doesn't the Fullback fall in that category?

HM needs to hire a little old lady or man to put at the end of the production line. All he or she has to know is what the model is SUPPOSED to look like. Then the inspectors go to town. Post inspection, if it doesn't measure up, the model goes in a bin for rejects (rather than a box) and the paint and/or assembler folks don't get paid for that one. Wanna see quality improve PDQ? Until they do this, BTW, NONE of this chat about NEW product amounts to a hill of beans.

So you base your analyse on WHAT you want and thinks other want and make it as an argument for HM to do so ?
Because the market for the Mig-29 is already kind of owned to JC-Wings, so HM would have to do better. and you probably think as a US EU west costumer not as a EU East / Russian costumer ?
what could you possibly tell you that there are no need of those models in the Market ?
I would think the contrary but of course maybe not as big has the popular model like the Fulcrum or US aircraft as you said.

May i ask you a question do you live in the us and do you have a Dassault Rafale model ?

MiG 31 number built (519) that let plenty of different decals and models to produces.
Fencer Approximately 1,400 built.

Even if you would like a Mig - 29 so bad i still think a MiG-31 would be a great idea, and since they already made the MiG - 25 why not plus in my opinon people tend to like more the MiG-31 over the MiG-25 but that is my opinion.

Unless there would be decent metal Mig-31 without visible front division line and with all possible stencils, I´ll be happy with my Altaya Mig-31, which is actually surprisingly good model btw.
I looked at the model MiG 25 from HM and now i think i know what you mean with the Curious line,

Hopefully they if they would release a MiG - 31 they would fix it

If only the 3D metal printing could be cheaper and more precise I would be already working on my own model in 3D

Fullback can be added to that category as well since 1 operator and like 4 different schemes max.

I don’t think JCW own any part of the market tbh, they don’t produce much. JCW and Herpa had a Flanker out first and that didn’t stop HM coming out with one.

Any new model would be welcome at this point in time, even a Demon

Well, the theme is quite limitless. From early KC135 etc etc to B1B/B2 and KC10.

Of course, such releases have little in the way of diversity,....which is actually HM's forte as it makes manufacturing more efficient. But there is plenty of operational stuff to keep lads interested. For a Cold War,....it was quite hot at times.

Also, the SR71 isn't exactly filled with diversity and the cheapy lines have released some excellent stuff in 1:144 that has little chance of multiple releases such as the Coronado and Mariner. Not to mention a pretty good Atlas TU95.

1:144 has many advantages. And as stated before, Corgi have already started the line,...along with the aforementioned Atlas TU95.

It's never been done by Hobby Master, so just wondering why hasn't a South American F-16 Fighting Falcon never been released.. why not start with this Venezuelan Air Force F-16 to begin with..

& neither of those would be possible for the reason I've already mentioned- Wiiliam either can't or won't pay Dassault's exhorbitantly increased license fee.

Bump:

I´m still hoping that someone could know how high/low is the possibility that HM will be making
  • non-canarded two-seater Flanker (SU-27UB, SU-30, J-16) and/or
  • SU-30SM - two-seater Flanker with canards?

What´s your opinion, folks?

I would love to see a VT ANG, Green Mountain Boys F-16 from HM. If you ever fly into Burlington, you get to see them across the runway and, if you're lucky, see them all take off (I took the pic attached from my gate). I believe they were the first ones airborne on 9/11. Plus, they're getting the F-35 in another year or two...so, add that to the wish list too, HM!

I came across this Dutch Air Force F-16 Golden Lion while looking around for something else. It would make a welcome addition to my other Hobby Master F-16's.

Good Score I stopped looking for one when after a long wait...none was to be had on EBay.... It would have been added to my demonstrations teams theme.

I was aware of the Gemini Jets version from a previous thread, but any examples are long since sold out. Just thought that Hobby Master could do a good job of this one. Most of the other f-16 solo display team paint jobs tend to be stripey, like this one.

Me163 is not a bad choice but slightly limited by HM's mottling "capabilities." I think P-39, A5M, I-16/I-15, F6F, SBD, BF2C* and maybe P-38 are the best 1/48 choices for non-german. For Nazi planes I think me163 is a nice choice but i see it more likely that HM will first do Me109G and Fw190D.

I think Me109G is virtually guaranteed at some point and P-39 and I-16, both of which can be copied from very good Eduard kits and are of compact size, are smart and easy choices for HM. F6F they could produce ad infinitum in 1/48 and be a constant selller with minimum work.

* this was operated by both nationalist china and the USA hence interestnig to HM.

Resurrecting this thread.....

Cheesecake.... I pitched the Belgian F-16 POP (plane on plane) you suggested in another thread...to JCW but to no avail, ...... since they did the previous Portuguese F-16 POP and Hungarian Mig-29 POP, I figured they may jump on it, no such luck. So I have pitched it to HM.

plane737....I also pitched your suggested, (from another thread), the Peruvian MiG-29 POP to HM as well....

The excerpted reply for both planes was ......”Thank you again on the information......If we decide to make some of them....”

The reply was not a straight NO....so, I’m Hopeful for one or both planes.

POP’s
Ideas for Hobby Master releases-ccbd7381-85e7-4232-871c-924a1f9db6a2.jpg

I also pitched a redo of the Denmark F-16 Orange Lion previously done by Gemini Wings Jets..since its not uncommon for Manu’s to reproduce with some or very little variation, previously produced models of the same scheme by other Manu’s I.e. Blue Angels F-18’s etc....the reply was... “interesting....in due course......”

Another hopeful reply

I would really, really love (and I'm pretty sure others too) to see a MiG-21F-13 Fishbed C diecast by HM (or any other manufacturer for that matter) at some point in the near future as all we have thus far are plastic model kits which, let's be honest, not every one of us has the time or skill to build one and/or aren't satisfied with the feel of plastic models as compared to their hefty metal diecast counterparts (which is why we're here )

Honestly, I want to see more Special Operations models. I feel like it would be awesome to see HM make an A-29 or a U-28, or any of the 160th helos.

I know it is not SOF, but I would LOVE to see a good HH-60G/W Pavehawk. I wish Corgi would make it. They have a really descent Blackhawk mold. I feel like the HH is close enough to the UH-60 mold. Idk, maybe that is just too much to ask.
Rmac757 and Eric w like this.

The reply was not a straight NO....so, I’m Hopeful for one or both planes.

These were exactly the responses I got from William before he made the F-14A VF-41 Black Aces Delores and the F-15A 318th FIS Green Dragons I requested. So I expect good things on your end.

The MiG-21F-13 has been "in the works" at HM for a long time now. I've had several conversations with William that seemed promising. Originally, IIRC, it was due out 2018/19, but it keeps slipping. Instead they seem to have gone with wringing out the last few drops from the old tooling. When that meant the Finnish "bis" (well, bis-ish with short cuts), I was OK with it, but I think no-one really needs more SMTs over an F-13. Anyway, who knows what effects this bloody Wuhan virus business will have. Sorry, we're not meant to call it that are we?

I would love to see the San Antonio, TX Lonestar Gunfighters F-16C in diecast. I know Air Force One did a standard model a while back. I like the Texas flag "wrapped" around the nose/cockpit area.

Please tell Caliber Wings that. I literally told them they should make that bird about a month ago. Go shoot them a message over FB, so they see other interest in it. I would die to see a Lone Star Gunfighter. Personally, I would love to see one in Have Glass paint. That AF1 looks awful, saving my money for a better Texas Viper.

I will do that. I couldn't see the pictures well enough on the AF1 model, but I did notice big seams just behind the nose underneath the cockpit. A friend of mine gave me the model and decals below, but I don't know when I will get time to build it.

I'd like them to release this SU-27SM Red 55. It participated in Syria was equipped with the unusual loadout. In the first photo it has bomb markings so presumably it dropped them bombs later on
