This is a die cast forum isn't it? Didn't realise they make a Tornado in metal.

I also have my favourite bath-toy which I love to bath with
but somehow never got the idea to bring a 1/72 diecast tornado into the tub!

No wonder that happened.

Italeri makes some of it's planes using metal and and a good percentage, beyond normal, using plastic parts......for example...their Predator MQ-1 1/72....which I have... the wings are as plastic as I can tell...but the fuselage is metal.

RFR,....I think these Tornado's are metal....if not....it's P-r-i-c-e-y Plastic!

Italeri are a GREAT company ~ They make fantastic models & use "the best" decals...

(Hey, don't take MY word for it ~ Ask the I.P.M.S guys I used to mix with or those who post on kit-forums)

Their decals ARE made by the internationally renowned company "Cartograph"

In case you're unaware...

Cartograph ALSO MAKE Eagle Strike decals ~ so, are considered top-drawer, top-grade etc

(Again, don't just take MY word for it ~ scour the model-forums, ask-around & you WILL see...)

In reply, I'd suggest you either got a "dud-batch" (s&!t happens).....

.......... OR......... more likely, either YOU or the previous folks stored your kit badly
(if subjected to extremes of heat, the sheets CAN dry-out, causing cracking)

In my own (limited) experience, I only (currently) have around 400-500+ decal sheets (stored for the mass of unbuilt kits I own, spread over two-houses) & these are kept in a stable temperature in (dedicated) sealed bags.....

(you can't afford to take chances when decal sheets thesedays are nearly £10.00 or $16.00 American dollars per sheet ~ or sometimes even more)

I also currently have (at least, a minimum of) around 35-45 (brilliant) Italeri kits, ranging from...

AC.119's ~ C.119's ~ Do.24's ~ C.47's ~ Ju.52's ~ Shermans ~ Panzer.Iv's ~ Opel Blitz's & Maultier's by the dozen, etc, etc

ALL of them have Cartograph decals that are in excellent order, as are the 20+ Esci F.4 Phantoms & Hs123/129's's I also have too.

Like I say, sounds like your particular kit WAS badly stored by it's previous keeper/owner/seller !

BTW ; = "Yes, I've used Cartograph decals on many kits over the last 15-25 years..."
(before you inevitably ask)

NEVER ONCE HAVE I EVER, EVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM.... (period)

Rather than "rant on" about (and I quote) "stupid good for nothing italeri", I'd suggest that NOW that you have befallen the (sheer) joy of a badly-disintegrating-decal sheet, that you quit whining & dip your hand in your pocket & go out & buy (or order off the internet) an "Aftermarket" decal sheet that WILL satisfy your needs.

Don't blame Italeri ~ It's the fool who stored the kit before you (badly, it seems) that caused your rant !

Ladia ; Mate, that had me pissing-myself-laughing....!!!!!!!!!!!!

Throwing the Rubber-Duck out with the bath-water !!!!!!!!

Perhaps the O.P. soaked his Tornado decals in the bath BEFORE Ducky & bathwater went flying ?

You´re welcome, Hornchurch, you aircraft enthusiast

On the other side I myself am currently more pissed-off than pissing-myself-laughing

Reason? I´ve just received Robin Olds Operation Bolo F-4J from HM.
And the model "quality" was....err....slightly terrible: resistant glossy oil stains which cannot be removed, glue fingerstains on the tail, huge glue overflow around intakes (overpainted and thereby "would-be" cured according to HM quality inspection staff imaginations), awfully stepped fuselage in front of the canopy and last but not least canopy assembled maybe some 2 mm off the centerline. For one model quite a lot of quality lapses I would say....
Ok, my shop will exchange the piece, but anyway - strange level of HM quality control....

Believe it or not, some of the Italeri decals (well the artwork for decals + artwork the whole model) are done by a person living in Sydney Australia.
If I decided to produce a warbird model, I'd be engaging his services.
