Talking Gemini Aces Buzz Beurling RCAF Spitfire

This was a score and a half! I picked this beauty up at the 2014 Vancouver Airline Collectables Show today The best part? It was $14!! I didn't bother haggling on the price. Fantastic deal on a fantastic model. Very pleased. Sorry for the dark iPhone photos.

I'd have to hate you if I didn't have one that I got at a good price myself! It's one gorgeous model isn't it?!

Absolutely! Got five of ’em and just love ’em!
Too bad they stopped doing them. The paint and finish is unequalled IMO.
A few little flaws (what model doesn’t have some!?) like the oversized tail fin and backwards prop —*but still the best there is and would have loved to see them put out other marks in the series - MK1, MKXVI, MKV!

Not a bad kite, but I personally prefer the HM 1/48 version (HA8307) .

$14? Wow, that would easily go for 5x that price on eBay.

I really need to get a Gemini Spitfire one day.

No room in my little condo to collect 1/48 scale models. 1/72 suits me just fine. Although, if I had seen HA8307 for $14, I'd have bought it all the same.

I have the gemini version. it looks wonderful although there have been questions about its accuracy.

that said, i think the reason its wonderful is because of gemini's finish on it the HM model doesnt particularly stand out in a lineup of "all quite good" IX spifires. I was happy to find the johnson ix at a good price.

I do like the moveable ailerons and rudder.

Yes, and that particular issue is part of only 4 from Gemini where they actually got the colours just right. They missed by a long shot on two or three earlier releases (wrong green and grey)....

So great that it's the Beurling Spit too. Definitely a treasure in my collection.
