Here are the photos of my new purchases:

Dragon Warbirds 50275 Bf 109G-6 Alfred Grislawski
Staffelkapitan 1./JG50, Wiesbaden-Erbenheim 1943

My only major gripe with this is that the gear down is inverted, hence I couldn't do the proper look for the Bf 109's gear down configuration. But I did get a good model. The rudder and the flaps are tight enough not to limp down.

Witty Wings WTY-72004-20 P-51D Shark of Zambales

Definitely impressed with this model, even though Witty isn't hailed as the best maker of the P-51D. Here are some more close-up shots of the details.

Shark of Zambales was the personal unit of General Ebuen, you can read more about him here:
Philippine Air Force :: Official Website

And "Noli me tangere" which was misspelled in the tail of the plane, meaning "Touch me not" was the title of one of the anti-Spanish propaganda novels written by Jose Rizal, one of our national heroes. The symbol can still be seen in the Air Force's S-211.

There was only one left after I bought mine. Someone might snag it soon since a lot of local collectors asked me where I got mine.

As seen with my previous Witty Mustang purchase, I'd say I'll be adding American WWII planes to my theme in addition to my Luftwaffe theme. I think it's about time since I've had quite a good year with German planes.

Anyway, presenting:

Dragon Warbirds 50003 P-51D Mustang "The Millie G"
343rd Fighter Squadron, USAAF 55th Fighter Group

A local collector told me he got this model at the same store I frequent, so I got worried that I missed my chance. But when I visited the store, it seems there's an extra stock! So I took that chance and got my very first Dragon P-51D. And like most collectors said, it's definitely top notch in looks, even though it comes with the usual fiddly assembly for Dragon planes. I decided to glue the flaps for good to prevent further bother. And the only thing loose was the canopy and rear landing gear. The rest are fine, and I'm glad the antenna was a good tight fit without requiring any remedy to make sure it doesn't fall off.

I picked up the millie P and the special blue 361st flight group version along with an F4f for $15(AU) on ebay, they were good and in excellent condition, the only problem the had is that there wheels had been glued in, easy fix. Ever since then ive been keeping an eye out for the dragon P-51's they are very good

Good deal for you. I wish I could still find more Dragon P-51 locally. I really want Glamorous Glen III, heck I want all of them!

New catch after a little hiatus. The store that sells cheap diecast here just brought in some Dragon models, so I got them in a heartbeat. There were two Jugs, but I decided to just get one so I could get the Wildcat. Each one cost me less than around $20, so it's an epic catch!

It's been quite a long time since I've updated my stuff! I've finally taken some proper photos of my acquisitions. These are the planes I've managed to buy this year plus one I haven't taken photos of.

A Gemini Aces P-51B, I've posted a few quick shots when I got this way back March.
USAAF 355th FG, 354th FS, Henry Brown, RAF Steeple Morden, England, April 1944.

I've heard lots of praises for Gemini Aces' P-51B, and I was happy to have one ordered through a local seller. Plenty of nice details! Just look at those victory markings near the canopy.

Then I bought these two on impulse way back April. They were selling for cheap, so I snagged them! My only regret was not bringing enough money since there was another P-47 and Bf 109 at that time too. The Wildcat is pretty nice, not too many parts.

The P-47M is amazing. It's darn heavy! But I've had a broken landing gear and propeller while handling. But I still managed to fix them, so that's okay. I'd really recommend to display it with the stand because of its weight.

Dragon Warbirds 50206 F4F-4 Wildcat
Black 9-F-1 "Cat o' Nines" VF-9 USS Ranger, Operation Torch 1942

Dragon Warbirds 50089 P-47M Thunderbolt
61st FS/56th FG

And here's a gem for me. I preordered this limited edition item through Hobbiestock Collectibles, our local supplier of Inflight 200. My very first non-1/72 scale diecast model (it's in 1:200) and my first item from Inflight 200. A Philippine Air Force C-130H, and it's a limited edition of only 120 PIECES! I'm glad that I preordered it because I got a big discount for it.

As for the quality of the figure, there is a tendency for the propeller blades to be bent due to the nature of its packaging (you place the model over a sheet of plastic and into a styrofoam carved into the plane's shape) but a local collector here who has bought lots of C-130 models said it's a fixable issue. The camo is nicely done even if not totally accurate to the real plane (tail number is 4726). You've got the option to display with gears up or down, comes with a nice flight stand with a proper name plate for it. Really nice item!
