Default HM Kawasaki T-4 JASDF "Blue Impulse" HA3901

This one just landed in my collection from the FlyingMule Labor Day Sale

Hobbby Master Kawasaki T-4
JASDF 21st Hikotai, #46-5725
Blue Impulse (2010), Matsushima AB, Japan
Item: HA3901

When this model was announced, I'll be honest, I didn't even consider it. But now that I have it in my hands, I was so wrong not to have picked it up earlier! It's a very cool small aircraft. Compared to the other trainer aircraft I have (such as Corgi's BAe Hawk or Falcon Model's Hawk), I rank this one as the best. I like the Blue Impulse colors - it will go well with my other aerobatic demonstration aircraft. The standard grey T-4 version is also out as well, but I'll be waiting for a red/white livery next to complement this release.

Here's some pictures:

Enjoy!

Very special color! Noticed that the body gap line on the left side a bit obvious. It make the red sun divided into 2 so obvious.

That is a nice little model. Great pics. I don't like the black background, but a white model with a white background won't work too well.

The seats do attract my attention. The lack of detail is glaring, but I know how photos will amplify things like this. It's probably not an issue when viewing with the MkI eyeball. The quality seems a bit sloppy with the back seat leaning to the side and the HUD off center... again rather minor defects.

The Witty-style star-gazer crew positions reminds me of the F-16s. Maybe Epap can come up with a solution for us.

I'll have to check out the other one, as this type livery is not doing it for me. Yup. I like this one better: Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series HA3902A -Japan T-4 Trainer 86-5605 31st TSQ, 1st AW, JASDF

Same here. The seats are looking rather bland. But the lack of details at the ejection seats, the weapons or the pilot figures is a general issue when we're talking about diecast models and even plastic kits.
No wonder that there are tons of detail sets available for these things at the aftermarket.

I think these rather little details can give so much to the look of a model.

you are right on the money there baragdox. "Little" details that add "so much" to the looks. That's what makes me happy about the new comer AC heavy metal. Hope they will do much more than just F4s.

I've got this one too, a very nice addition to my Japanese collection. It's just a lovely little trainer and a nice thing about it is, that you see them literally at every Japanese military airbase. Every fighter squadron has a couple, which makes t very interesting markings wise. I hope to pair my HM F-4EJs with a future release with the big 302 Hikotai Eagle on the tail.

One gripe is the price. I think 50 euros is a bit steep.
