Wonderful! The only other trainer I'm hoping for is the Cessna T-37 Tweet. But the Talon will have a ton of liveries, ones I want are the NASA, Sheppard AFB and a Thunderbird.

But I would like to see a blue HO one... AT-38B. Lovely.

I would love to see a current NASA livery as well. Hopefully such would help HM to consider doing the current NASA F-18a livery model as well to match up for display with collectors.

A NASA T-38 would be a must have! Then you'd have collectors asking for a Rockwell Shuttle to go hand and hand with the T-38's!
Given the usual gray scheme that most F-18's wear, it would definitely be a welcomed release! Besides, its NASA!

Actually it would take a great deal of retooling for a CF-5D.

I would say it would take an entirely new tooling in fact.

I'm actually kind of happier to hear that because I would still rather Hobby Master put out a CF-5D than Falcon.

This bird absolutely needs to be made. I and a few others had been trying to convince HM to make this and they came out with the F-5 instead. I think the T-38 would have been a much better choice given the amount of liveries as well the general interest which can be seen in the T-38 topic threads on the aviation boards. Falcon made a smart move and if they can produce a decent rendition, they have a very winning mold on their hands.
They have to pop out the NASA bird asap. I know so many that will buy multiples when it becomes available.

Nasa T-38's are a must! I would definitely get one! Or two!

Sorry folks, don't mean to be a party pooper but the T-38 just does not grab me as an aircraft. Basically it's just a 2 seat F-5. Am I missing something?

Eehm, basically the F-5 is a single seat T-38?

Can't argue about taste but in my opinion the T-38 and later the F-5 series are glorious designs for trainers/fighters.

As a pilot myself, I have always wanted to see the trainers come out. I was extremely happy to see Gemini come out with the C-172 an now Falcon with the T-38 as I have trained first in the C-172 and had some flight time in a T-38. Both are wonderful to fly and for many pilots, I am sure they would not mind seeing a desk top model of the aircraft they trained in.

Gemini's C-172 sold out quickly, which answers the same question you posted of, who would buy such a model. I think you will see the same with the Falcon model as well and I am sure if they do a NASA bird, you will see it sell well as there is another cross into the market niche of the aviation space collectors. A great aircraft and I am really hoping Falcon does a good job on this as I am certain it will have a strong following.

Here's a lovely civilian scheme that's a long shot, but one I'd love to see...one of Boeing's two T-38s privately owned and used for test work. And as an ATC I've gotten to control both of them! And I don't even work at BFI.

I think the F-5 and all the variants are rather elegant looking jets. I've always been a fan. But hey, not everyone's tastes are the same. There are a lot of people excited about an F-35 release and I think it's about as boring to look at as a hospital wall.

Amen, I'd rather a cool looking trainer then a fugly unproven fighter. It's too early for any manufacturers to be releasing a F-35, let it get some combat XP, then do one, even then, the schemes will be as limited at the F-22

Agreed! The F-5 and T-38 are sleek and elegant planes with a clean design. For the same reason, i really like the look of planes like the F-104 Starfighter, the french Mirages or the famous MiG-21
They are like sports cars. Hot looking but not that much space for your luggage

Talking about the F-35, i would agree that such a plane should have some time to mature like a good wine.
When they start to gather some service time, they'll surely see some modifications, upgrades and some variations in their liveries sooner or later.
Why jumpin' in so early as a diecast-manufacturer and risk some additional costs when the mold may need some modifications too?

And don't forget, soooo many other older aircraft types with history and service time still undone

Regards
Braggel

I'd like to see FM do either of these two AT-38B's

Archivo:AT-38B 479TTW HollomanAFB 1987.jpeg - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre

And yeah, there are way more aircraft that should be done before the F-35 is attempted

Each company determines it's own direction. Given Falcon is doing the T-38, they have it wide open as to how they want to proceed without the influence of HM.

Same for HM. I think Hm is smart to take advantage of an open niche market with the F-35. Anytime a group of manufacturers compete and there is a die cast aircraft that may be popular, that is a great window of opportunity to produce that aircraft and make money with the mold while there is no other competition. Hobby Master is extremely smart to do so with the model and establish the market before another manufacture competes in that niche. More over, if they can establish a high quality model as HM has a record of, it makes it very difficult fro another competitor to enter that field and compete. Again, smart of HM to do with a model that is sure to be popular in the next few years.

I just wished HM had taken on the T-38 instead of the F-5 given the differing potential of the two. I think HM could have possibly done a better and had many more liveries to work with on the T-38. That said, I hope Falcon invest properly to do this model justice and make it a quality piece.

I think Hobby Master has done well with their F-5. I just wish they'd do an F-5A or F-5D.

Say ACpilot, I don't mean to prey but if you have all that communication with these guys can I ask you a question about their future models?

I'm in two minds about this one. I really like the plane and for the most part I think Falcon has made a pretty little model.

But I feel it's badly let down in two aspects. Firstly, the exhausts which look rather crude and haven't (yet) been fixed into the 'single piece' as was hoped.

Secondly, the leading edges of the wing. I'm not sure that they're meant to be black, at least not to that extent, and it only serves to accentuate their oversized nature. Unfortunately they seem to have some trouble in this department, being reminiscent of the Mirage F1.

It's not too big of a deal for me personally, but I suspect it will leave at least some people waiting for schemes that minimize the defect. On the F1 I don't think it's as bad as the close-up shots make it look, as will probably be the case here. But it would be great if they could find a way to make their models more refined in this regard.

On the whole, pretty happy with the look of the product after a long wait. A good few will be joining my collection I think.

I know about as much as the rest of you.

Future releases are usually secret until announced.
