Looks nice...Wasn't this also the last F-4 x-plus released?

This seem like a strange livery to release now, considering all the Japanese liveries still available at retailers. It looks very nice, but...

Of all the choices...not totaly duff release, though will pass.!! a 2020, OR Egyptian veteran, or even a sk f-4E..or even a f-4S...strange choice.. mabe looking to claim sales in the land of the rising sun, there probably sick of usaf/usn..lol

I doubt it will be as detailed as the mig silhouette F-4EJ, thats probably the most detailed release yet.!!!

Probably they got a request from the Japanese distributors to make another one. HM has a good market foothold on the japanese market, whatever the distributors request, it goes. For example - most manufacters when making a mould they would want to maximize it as much as possible so they normally chose an aircraft that has a lot of potential like the F-16, F-4...etc because it has flown with several nations. I was surprised when HM announced the Kawasaki T-4 trainer - not a lot of paint schemes to choose from. Same with the Mitsubishi F-1, F-2, T-2 - but it still got made because of the Japanese influence. lol wish we had that kind of power.

But HM has proven they can make it detailed if they wanted. Their previous F-4EJ Kai HA1927 is a testimony to that fact:

I personally cannot wait for this one. The Japanese F-4s have really colorful markings.\

I do wonder though, why we don't see any USAFE F-4s for instance. Could do with a nice CR, BT, SP or any other European code...

I think HM will be making Phantoms for a long time. USAFE schemes might be future releases.

Well, used as an adjective for a model is a little bit different that using it as an insult or slur.

I don't think he's whining... I think it's a very accurate statement.

As far as racist, I can see your point from an historical context, but I don't think it was intended as such, nor used in a derogatory manner. I think it was simply used here as an abbreviation like hm, and the use of no CAPs that you are both guilty of.

I have Tex Mex pickups in my guitar. Double offense or efficient message? We are a lazy society, especially when typing or texting.

Cool, a real admin ^^^

I also disagree with your comments. Read the comments again carefully and try to understand what the individual was saying. He was not whining and he was making a fair observation about the detailing consistency of some HM model releases. The term "jap" was made as an abbreviation but it was not meant to insult anyone of Japanese ancestry. Besides you don't know the individual on a personal level and it is unfair to judge him as racist.

Sorry to anyone who was offended by me being lazy and leaving off a couple of letters.

In my defence i think 90% of members know i wasn't remotely being racist,

Would of be more interesting to hear your view on the Japanese phantoms, not go on a moral crusade of sorts....

If it was used in aggression and anger ,with poss ( short for possible) reference to maybe ww2 or use of other words , you may have a a point. It clearly wasn't.

If anything i deserve an apology for being accused of using a form of racism...

Lets drop it know and crack on with the topic title.

Many thanks

The Hobby Master F-4 is a fantastic model. The belly detail looks awesome.
I have the Israeli version and I absolutely think it's a piece of art. It sold out quickly and I'm just scratching my head as to why HM doesn't release another one. I wish the gear were sturdier though as they are pretty flimsy to hold such weight.

BTW, I don't believe gobert meant any harm in his statement. That proper noun (not adjective) was used alot as well as Brit and Yank.

Better quality and graphics than I would expect of a CW model, beautifully done. CW may have some great aircraft but HM is beating them out with quality control and the number of new models and liveries. HM is the manufacture I look to purchasing the most now.

Would be great if we were able to purchase all models from HM. Unfortunately they don't make F-14, A-6, A-7, F-8, SR-71 planes.

Hobby Master 1/72 scale Air Power Series HA1933 - F-4EJ Kai Phantom II 67-8377, 302nd Sqn, JASDF

More i look into it..I think I may fork out. It's still a different variant as its a Kai so to keep with my collection criteria its a must to go with f-4ej mig silhouette .there are noticeable differences and looks like they have upped there game for Japanese market...stencil detail look like its up to more x-plus strd.. Check pre pros out!! Also can utilise some hasagawa weapons for this Kai release....!

Just arrived !!!

I was on the fence about this one, but seeing the detailed stencils and great paint, I decided to pick one up.

The level of detail is amazing and rivals even the X-Plus in markings. Some of the parts were unusually tight and required a lot of filing... especially the landing gear and center fuel tank.

The cooling intake scoop will require some work, however...

Holy Cow, if they would re-release Showtime 100 with all that detail I would pay $150.

Wow..shame it was delayed couple months...not sure ill get it in uk for another 3 weeks.

I was, as mentioned through this topic I was torn, though realising it was a another variant to add to collection I became excited by release, Alan's pre pro,
As I mentioned the Japanese releases are generally the most detailed and accurate...as this shows.
Just think the interest Hm would create if "all" were like this... I'm sure it's to do with its target audience with this release and its competition from xplus in Japan.? As all the f-ej have high level of detail...I love my mig silhouette f-4ej
