Exclamation Witty F-15C USAF 57th ATG, 65th AGRS, #78-0509

This is my first Witty model, and I am really impressed by this F-15C. I didn't expect this quality for ~$63 model . But Witty has changed my mind then

bonus Alsska Boeing :]

Sorry for the bad images quality , took with my phone . I am ordering my second F-15 now . Love it !

From what I hear, the gears down F-15s are fine. But the gears up versions suck. Witty has never been very good with designing the swappable undercarriage parts needed to have the models displayed in gears up mode. A perfect example is their Mig 29 and Su-27s....

I would be more concerned about the canopy, if witty reshaped that canopy, the f-15 would be a huge success

I don't have any other Witty model, but this F-15 canopy is perfect fit : )

The fit is fine, I was referring to the shape. The backpart of the canopy is bulging out too far, more like a 2 seater. Dragon Wings F-15C (and E) looks more to the correct shape but Witty's overall body detail is better.

Here's a better picture of what I mean:

But Witty Wings always had a problem with canopies. Like the F-15E the Su-27, the F-16I. Their latest venture (they also go by the name Aviation 72 and Sky Guardian) made the Saaab Draken and the pre pro shots has made the other forum turn over it's grave. The canopy is just horrible

The the air intake just below the canopy should slope down as well.

I see the problem with F-15c canopy very neglibible in its total appearance as a whole. As mentioned, the fuselage is right, so theres no reason average collectors will make a fuss about the canopy. If its only that canopy comapred with the Dragons F-15 as a model...personally I would choose Witty hands down no doubt...with Hms plan to make the F-15E in the far future, Wittys F-15C tops it all at the moment.....

the air intake is moveable in various position....could even be positioned horizontal or much lower depending on its use...

Would be great if Witty can improve the canopy. No deal breaker for me as I have an F-15C in my collection. I posted pics in this thread

I've had my fair share of hearing "oh the canopy on this Witty is wrong" thing. However, I am easily impressed with the model by appreciating its beauty as a whole. I am no expert on aircrafts though and I didn't really notice the problem of that unusual bulge and slopes on the canopy.

As far as landing gears are concerned, my three Witty F-16s are a chore to assemble with the gears down. But once complete, it's a nice static display.

Congratulations on your Aggressor F-15! Oh, the F-16s I was talking about are both Agressor planes, just like yours! Perhaps you should be our flight lead! LoL!

I think I'd rather wait for a Hobby Master F-15.

Has someone got time to compare the Dragon and Witty F-15C's with a few pics. I am really impressed with both, but I was lucky enough to get the Dragons for under $30 each.

I have to look pretty closely to see the errors with the C model canopy. It's not as atrocious as the Witty F-15E or F-16D imho.

So fianally i got my Aggressor Squadron birds

I love blue so totally in love with the birds' color . But HM but makes me down ...again . So many plastics parts, the F-16 looks great , but touching it feels so cheap for the price ~$70

Thats a mean looking group of Aggressors with an awesome color scheme! I am with you on your feeling about the plastic parts.... As much as I'd want to, I don't think I could buy a Hobby Master F-16, however, it does indeed look great! Thanks for sharing with us!

The Falcon looks great, I must admit. Luckily I can't tell plastic from metal in your pictures.. Just one thing about it, that stand is too much of a cradle for the F-16 I think? Couldn't HM do a bit more subtle job on that?

I wont be bothered about any negative comment about WW F-15C when you think CWs F-14s, SR-71 etc that cost way over the $100 makes obvious errors. Corgis latest Lancaster....etc....we can say, wait for HMs F-15E....perhaps it could take another year....and who says that HM will make a perfect canopy....just see HMs Blue Angel....and see what I mean when talkin about arrors ....and some guys try not to see it....or defend it..

I totally agee that they dropped the ball on this stand. The inability to display the centerline tank when in flight stinks.

They did an excellent job on the F-18 stand.

Great pics of the blue aggressors. They look very nice together.

I don't really mind about the price but HM began to add too much plastics to its models [tail , head ] and HM's stands are sucks [also plastic]

HM aint the only manufacturer. Century Wings make some models with plastic stabs.

I can see why HM would add plastic parts for the tail and head, the parts are a bit more refine. Plus if you make the tail metal, you run the risk of having it be a tail-sitter.

What a nice, peaceful thread. I like how you used the blue backgrounds on your monitors as a backdrop.

But seriously dude... you need to get a proper surge protector. That mess plugged into the wall is a fire waiting to happen. Sorry. I've seen too many results of improper wiring. It reminds me of Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation.

Agreed there. Isn't a surge protector or power bar now the standard in a home office? I concur with Skinner that you should get one before you invest in the next model or everything may be for nought.
