Default AA35907 Blackhawk: DAP (Direct Action Penetrator) U.S. Army, 160th SOAR.

I recently stumbled across this model while searching the web.

I figured this release would have sold lots, at least on this side of the pond, so why cancel it? This is from 2009 so it could very well have been talked about but I am just really curious as to why they cancelled something so sought after.

Some links:

-2009 release
• View topic - Corgi : forthcoming in 2009.....

Again, sorry for the late topic but I just have to know "WHY?"

because it ain't british =D lol, if it doesn't have a british flag, corgi ain't making it lol

jk

but yea I was pretty mad about them canceling this one too. According to them...blackhawks don't sell...apparently not as well as they hoped. Even the american ones....go figure. I think this would have sold very nicely....but they are not going to chance it.

This one.

No one, wholesalers, retailers, importers, collectors ,especially in the US ordered the model from Corgi, no orders no production especially with the costs of the mods to the casting.

Lol SKF, it sure seems that way now.

Ahh, I was hoping you'd see this, Sniper. Seriously? No buyers? That is ridiculous, especially when there are numerous people on the web asking for one.

Even if this 'proposal' was from 08/09- what if they made the same proposal now? Same mods (assuming everything is correct), same drawins, moulds etc. And, to top it off, what if (yes, "what if") people could email retailers and ask if they would be interested in ordering some? At least make it Limited Edition and make 500 or so...

My big "what if?" scenario..

And as always, thanks for the replies gentlemen.

I find it sometimes a mystery that inspite of the fact Corgi makes nice models, specially those heavies where they are absolutely the top manufactureres... they limit so much their production wherin all are sold out and only ebay sellers makes a big profit out of them. The US market is a big potential till now, waiting for more B-17, B-24,B-25 and the likes and also their P-38 and P-40s are well beloved....I just wonder what keeps them from producing such models.....

Right now would be the perfect time release it... the other 160th Blackhawks are practically impossible to find nowadays

I'm more of a jet man myself,BUT...I do love some heli's!! I'd buy one of these straight away. Love the Blackhawk. The two that are the holy grails for me and I don't think they'll ever make them are the: South African Airforce Puma ( I know Corgi has this mould) and the Rhodesian Allouette.
