But from pics Im seeing, it seems that its just pure black. How is it in real life? Tnx so much

Thanks Tim. It's a great little model.

The color is dark blue and matches the Helldiver and Hellcat. I have a Corgi Bunker Hill Corsair in the lighter blue, very similar to what is shown on the Avenger above, but it's not as nice as the Dragon version in my opinion. The landing gear attachment is pretty bad, but with patience, it eventually acted accordingly.

Even the pics at TFM make it look black in some shots:

Dragon Models 50338 - F4U Corsair Diecast Model, USN VF-84 The Wolf Gang, "White 107": The Flying Mule

The LED lights above the models are too white (harsh) and it doesn't represent the model well at all.

I like Hobby Master's 1/48 scale version better though:

Hey Mr.Skinner67. Thanks for the quick response. Good to know its just the lighting thats causing all these. Will be getting this then. As for the HM Bunker Hill corsair, that does look so nice. Might consider that someday but will be staying on the 1/72 scale for the mean being.

Hi PeterMac. Welcome to the forum.

Beware. The 1/72 armor is as addictive as the aircraft.

I love the Tigers form DA. Do a little research, because the quality and accuracy varies greatly between the different releases.

I also picked up the 3 Corgi Blackhawks and a 1/48 SE5a AA37706, but haven't found a place to display them yet.

Try this link. You may need to email the forum admin as the site has been under spamming attack over the last few months. They are quick to respond, and should give you access if you have trouble.

"Tiki" is a nice one. Very

It has some very minor flaws, but I'll let you discover them for yourself, if you're inclined to notice. I don't like pointing them out, because it's a generally accurate representative of the real machine.

The camo is unusual and it has the great Fiefel air cleaners. These two features make it one of my favorites.

We discussed it here:

Great thread Scott! I've learned a lot about your collection. Glad you consider the Doolittle Raider to be iconic, April 1942 was a scary time and that was a gutsy raid. I love the look too.
