Default New !:400 Manufacturer

Members,

I recently came across a posting on Facebook announcing a new manufacturer of 1:400 scale die cast aircraft models by the name of "Velocity Models".

Little information was contained in the post and have not been able to find anything on the internet about them.

Has anyone else seen this or does anyone have any information about this company that they can share?

Best regards,

Roy

I'm pretty confident we'll see GJ do the MD-88 in Widget colors. That said, I too would love to see more U.S. subjects from the '80s and '90s. I've got gaping holes in my USAir 1990s fleet (757-200, F-28, 737-300), United Saul Bass v2 (737-200/300/500, 757-200, etc.), United battleship (737s), and others. I could really go for some more Delta interim and wavy gravy, Continental (both red meatball and final colors), Piedmont, and Republic (both Herman and Mary Tyler Moore colors) too.

Well... I passed on the Continental black meatball and the United Saul Bass v1 727s that Aeroclassics did because I didn't realize until I saw the photos that the mold had been reworked. I was able to score a United, but Continental was already sold out by the time I realized the mold had been fixed (I didn't care for the #2 engine exhaust area on the old one). The only thing that bugs me is that the tail sits about 1/4 inch lower than the GJ version... which is right? And the font used for the registration is completely wrong... it's too large and in italics! It should match what AC used on the 737-300... that one was spot on!

So if GJ ends up doing those I will pick up both, and sell my AC.

I do think there's a pretty good chance AC might do the US 733 in the blue-tail scheme at some point since they already did the -200.

It wouldn't be fair to the others who are starting with me to say its just mine, but I had a good opportunity to work with some people on this. Things will start on the smaller, more conservative side and as time progresses will expand from there. The first few runs will have a new country added to the list of models represented each month and the older releases start with month two.
