What kind of camera do you use when taking pictures??

Hey everyone, I know this isn't 1/200 but this is the sectoin where most people look at :P

I just bought my first DSLR and I love it! Although it may be too advanced for an noob, I bought the Nikon D7000!

I have a Canon 5D (waiting for the MKIII whenever that will be). Manual mode, shutter priority, or aperture priority. Buy a tripod as well, it can help when photographing models.

What lens are you using?

Re: What kind of camera do you use when taking pictures??

I use a NIkon D300 set at a relativly high (1600) ISO. This allows me to utilize a very small aperture, at least F32 to give me a great depth of field which is very important in close-up photography. Also, the use of a tripod lets me use a very slow shutter speed sometimes down to 2 full seconds to be compatable with the small aperture. This allows for everything from front to back in the photo to be sharp.
Hope this helps.

I have a Canon T2i and my lens are 18-200 mm. Besides the coments above sometimes is good to increase the speed of the photo but not too much because this way your pic will be a little dark.

Very soon the MKIII will arrive. I am told Nov.

30MP, 100MB RAW files. ISI52000 with no noise handheld in complete darkness taking handheld shots of the city. Nikon fans, your rain on ISO terror is over!

OT: I use a 5D and a few L series lenses.

If this forum is actively moderated, this topic would have been kicked out of the 1/200 models section. The reason why there forum thread sections exists.

And who cares what camera everyone is using. All I want to read in this section is about the 1/200th scale models.

Thread moved to Gen. Squawk Talk.

I'm using Nikon and Canon Cameras, with a broad gears of Sigma and Canon EQ. I'm using mostly my Canon Gear for spotting. Shoots RAW and uses Photoshop to pep them up.
I take photos for personal collection now and "very seldom to never" upload them at JP.net anymore.

But I'm upgrading to Video-spotting in the future. I've been inspired by the numerous video-spotter accounts on Youtube.
Here's one of them:
<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pL2wm3DJJKQ?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pL2wm3DJJKQ?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

Lance, How's that 5D workin' ya?

I feel inferior posting about my little digicam now! :o

I use the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5V. Really an amazing little camera with everything from HD 1080p video recording, a 25-250mm equivalent zoom lens and GPS tagging for every shot. It may not produce perfectly crisp, DSLR-like shots but I love it! :D

Generally I use either a Canon EOS D60 or Canon 5D however all the pics of my 1:200 models were taken with an iPhone 3G!
