Default Just chilling with my camera when...

So a few weeks ago I decided to head outside and just hang around the house to work on a photography assignment that was to be due later on in the week. Little did I know the second I walked out my garage door I'd see a Tornado blasting above my head. So I instantly turned on my camera and just snapped some quick shots.

Of course they're not the best because I am not a photographer and I'm still learning my way around my Canon 60D. That said, they did come out clear.

St. John's usually does not see fighter jets. We are more so Hercules central on the east coast. The airport serves as fuel stop for both the Canadian and American Air Force; we occasionally see some C-17s as well.

Oh, and this is what the little children next door decided to do:

Driving home from work one day and noticed this masterpiece on what usually is the lawn.

Ooops, I think you meant Tornado (not F-16)!

Woops! I will stick with commercial aviation.

Wow, Good catch. It was probably visiting from across the pond. Seeing fighter jets in Toronto used to be rare (I've seen the odd F-18 and others, I've also heard them. But that was years and years ago.) now it is almost unheard of except for the Airshow.

Nice pics! I really like the second one. I wish we had more aircraft where I live. All we have flying around is the General Aviation, no big jets or military planes. At my old house we used to see more military aircraft, since NAS Willow Grove used to be more functional than it is now.

I know what it feels like to live in a GA area. I used to live in a town outside of Vancouver which had it's own little airport. It was mostly Pipers and Cessnas buzzing around. Unfortunately CYVR was over an hours drive if you were lucky. Three hours when your caught in the traffic.

But when I moved here, we bought a house 10 minute walking distance from the international airport. It's not very exciting however because the air traffic consists of Air Canada EJets and A32Xs, WestJet 737s, and Porter Q400s passenger wise. Pretty dull.

Yeah, I see some excitement every once in a while. Just today I saw a naval helo fly over my house. I think it might have been a Pave Low, not too sure though. What I noticed though is that there always seems to be something cool in the sky when it is overcast outside and you cannot see it because its above the blanket of clouds!

That beautifull blue sky is also very nice. We don't get a sky like that very often around my home.
