Being an artist myself you drawings are superb.
Try watercolour pencils on watercolour card = gets a nice effect with some control.
your colour work is quite beautiful - nice variation to the black & white stuff which can become a bit stale after a while.
Have you thought of adding some background scenes to give the aircraft some location or timespace?
Keep posting - I'm really enjoying your work
