Default OT: Toyotas Big Fiasco

So whats going on with these yoters, is it an electronic glitch in the ECM, and why are drivers experiencing problems with these, unwilling to just throw the damn thing into neutral and risk blowing up the motor rather than losing your life and that of others?

Any opinions???

My dad owns a 2007 Camry ... and Toyota has been giving him the "runaround" on this issue ... they'd love to blame it on:
  • floormats
  • sticky gas pedals
  • driver error

But NOT on anything unusual having to do with the electronics of the vehicle.

I think it's a NO-brainer ... it's a cover-up for sure.

The LATEST incident here in San Diego just yesterday ... a runaway Prius!!!

Default Toyotas Big Fiasco

..... To me this is nothing new. I had a 1971 Toyota Corolla back in the mid -70s. In cold weather the carburator would stick and race. I'd have to stop the car (fortunately I could) get out, pop the hood, fiddle with the carburator till it went back to idle. PITA. Took it to a Toyota dealer. They said, needs new carburator. New carburator, cost $250 plus labor (in 1970s dollars), guess what? Same crap. Got rid of it and never bought another Toyota since.
..... I don't know what the lame-brain power these people who are still rushing to buy Toyotas, even the same problem-plagued models, speaks volumes to the stupidity of people.

So, was this a hoax with this runaway prius???

I kind of feel not, i still think that this problem is so intermittent and results from one vehicle to another depends on the person behind the wheel. Toyota says they couldn't replicate a mechanical failure on this car, but stopped short of mentioning an electronic glitch....
