Default Goodbye Alitalia, Hello ITA Airways

Officially the new airline is Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A., doing business as ITA Airways.

Always sad to see an airline with such a long colourful history disappear like this. Sadly I think that the writing had been on the wall for Alitalia for many years. Poor management and seemingly endless labour disputes have led to the carriers demise. It’s going to seem strange to see airport aprons without an Alitalia plane gracing them, very sad.

Neil.

Hi Neil,

Yes indeed, it is a shame that Alitalia will be no more. I remember my grandfather flew back to Italy a few times on Alitalia's Boeing 747s:

When he returned from his flights on Alitalia, he always spoke very highly of the service that he received onboard.

I've flown to Italy both times on Alitalia, as my mother was born in Sicily, and really enjoyed the food/service. Never got the chance to fly on any of their Queens, but still grateful to have had the o pportunity
