Having worked in the airline industry for over 30yrs, my interest has eclipsed more than just collecting models. My collection also includes books, photos, e-vac cards and in-flight service items (as well as a long list of other items). I just obtained an item from the early years of commercial aviation....a dinner plate from the "BOEING SYSTEM"...it was sold as "possibly a cafeteria plate". Still re-searching the origins and use of this plate, but I believe it was used on board the early flights of BOEING before they had to divest themselves of the airline operation. Maybe someone here can confirm my suspicions or provide evidence to the contrary...

Interesting plate...If I had to guess, if used on flights, maybe sales demo flights to the press or airlines? Cafeteria sounds about right too..I would strongly suggest you contact WAHS.. World Airline Historical Society as they have members that specialize in airline dishes, silverware, swizzle sticks and much much more.
