Yeah, i notice he still has stuffs on sale with several sales in july after my sale. and seems like he been getting feed backs recently. But my sale was at the end of june so been about 3 wk now. and it's for a very high value rare item in the hundreds of $, not a trivial $50-60 or even $100. And i got ZERO reply from him. I already sent him like more than half dozen msg starting about 2 wks ago.

It really bother me because i had very good transactions with him in the past with orders total even higher than this recent transaction. However, I don't know what's going on.

I hope he's doing ok. secondly, I hope he's not playing any sort of game. I mean he doesn't seem like someone who does.

if you got it through ebay and got no reply for 3 weeks, then you can open an 'item not received' dispute. that should get his attention! ebay should cover you if it doesn't turn up. in u.k cover is up to £500. not sure what it is for other countries.

Hmm..sorry to hear your experience. I quickly checked if he/she lives in Riverside, CA...No...So, you should be good. If you have paid through PayPal. You are covered...Good luck..

I’ve bought several models from him in the past two years but had an unpleasant experience with my most recent purchase. I won a bid for a Hogan Northwest 787 back in March that never got shipped.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that COVID-19 has complicated his operations. But after a few weeks of zero communication, I inquired about my purchase and sent several messages without any responses. He finally responded when I sent an issue with eBay. He claimed that the reason it never got shipped was because he had an A330 in stock and not a 787. I found this to be strange since the bid I won clearly shows a 787 in his pictures. He gave me an option for a refund which I chose.

Getting a refund from him was another ordeal as it took several messages. He would respond to every other message that I sent claiming that he would refund me that day. But it took nearly three weeks for him to give me a refund from the day he offered a refund.

I honestly don’t know what happened to him. I’ve never had a single issue with my previous purchases until this one. He used to ship lightning fast and would respond quickly. Heck, some of my purchases used to arrive in two days.

Bought from him twice and never bought again. Thought the first time I received a strong cigarette-smelling model was maybe because he got it used from a tobacco puffing seller. But after the second time with the same experience, that was it. Never again.

You kinda summarize exactly my feeling at this point! I don't know why this is happening that he is shipping out some because i notice people winning bids from 7/12 already leaving him feedback so that's the usual quick shipping. But then i bought mine the last week of june and haven't gotten any response at all from any msg and nothing shipped ;(. As i also said, didn't have problem at all when i dealt with him the last time back in 2019

I actually met him at the Airliners International convention in Atlanta last year - super nice guy. I've never had any problems with his shipping either (although as Harvey says, for whatever reason the boxes always smell like cigarette smoke - I don't like that either but it does fade). I was about to pull the trigger on a couple of other things he has listed but these reports are making me hold off for now...

Just sent him another msg yesterday. No reply still ;(.

Anyone has any proposal anything i can do to get him to respond? already open a case.
This sucks because the item i won on his auction is not a common item. It's fairly rare and expensive. I guess he might figure he got a leverage on me to play around?

I have dealt with another dealer before trying to buy a rare item and had got the runaround. See my story here about my deal with a model crane seller ;( :

https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...30-post23.html

Sucks when you try to buy rare items.... ;(

I've bought about 4 planes from Medy6565. None of the planes came damaged or anything but they did smell like cigarette smoke which doesn't bother me that much (because I was raised around smokers). But give him some time he is a fantastic seller. Also, he is aware of messages but normally doesn't respond because he got my package forwarded from my old address to my new address when I finished college so that I am thankful for!

Which plane did you win if you don't mind me asking?

Not sure if i understand what you mean by how he is aware of the msg but doesn't respond because he got your package forwarded from old address to new address?

The plane was the 1/200 gemini concorde...lol.

At this point, i guess i will just wait for ebay to just refund me because he's pretty much put me on complete ignore with zero response to anything. I sent him a few msg about a few other items he's selling also but got zero response on those either. I have no idea why he's doing this. If he's away on trip, i don't care about waiting for even another month if he would just sent a msg back.. But seeing hows he's listing new items and also shipping out stuffs and getting feedbacks from auctions that ended as recent as july 12, i am pretty certain at this point he has put me on the ignore list. And i have no idea why since i have bought hundreds of dollar in the past with him. Maybe he figured he made more and sold it off to someone else outside of ebay after i won the auction?

whatever.... I guess that's just how it is whenever you try to buy a rare item from anyone. Seller has complete leverage in those cases to treat the buyer anyway they want.... I'll just wait for my refund and another auction for it. Just not worth my stress to deal with seller that does those kind of things...

Nice!

Sorry, let me rephrase:

About a couple of months ago, the dorms closed at my university (Southern Illinois University) and I missed the day of delivery for a plane that I won in his auction (1:400 Gemini Jets Etihad Boeing 787-9 Reg: A6-BLA) . I called USPS for them to forward my package to my house in Chicago and they told me that they can't do that only the seller can. I messaged him stating the issue, I never got a response but a couple of days later my package came from Carbondale to my surprise. I was in shock but was very happy.

He reads the messages but doesn't reply which I think is very odd.

Fine. But no msg responding and never post a tracking number in my case. Just check my mail box today. Nothing.

My first msg to him to ask if the item has been shipped was jul 9. So that was more than 2 wk after the purchase date. i sent a msg every other day. then everyday for last 5 days. Zero responses. No tracking info....

ALERT:

I just noticed that the waffle thread has been closed and locked:

https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ml#post2767030

I wonder why this is? Hope it's not due to waffle having some influence on the admin!
I want to post another alert i just found out about waffle that everyone SHOULD know before ordering:

He has changed his policy on his site, esp regarding credit card charge and orders. All orders are charged immediate at time of order. Does not matter if it's preorder or special order that might need to wait for weeks or months. In the past, he only charged immediately with paypal and charged card only at time of shipping. And now if you are canceling it's 25% fee for preorder and 50% fee for everything else including special order even if you cancel immediately and even if the item hasn't shipped.

https://www.wafflecollectibles.com/how_to_shop.html

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH.... Make sure you know if you order anything preorder or special order, be prepared to have your money sent to him immediately even if it won't get shipped for weeks or months or whatever.... and if you try to cancel, the fee is 25% for preorder and 50% for everything else

And does anyone know why the waffle thread was locked and closed?

@Wildpig - this would be like the literally dozens of previous threads on Waffle that have been closed. In the end it ends in tears as he has a good number here who are loyal customers and many who have been put off by his vile antics.

And yes he was / possibly is a forum sponsor so therein lies one of the dilemmas for the Admin / Moderator team.

Got a little too interesting of a discussion..I shared my experiences. Go check out the thread.... .You want to find the stooges of Maffle? try posting your experiences... I wouldn’t be surprised at all if someone on this Forum would take it as a personal attack...And you will be left confused and wondering why a DAC forum member would take it against him/her whenever they see a genuine complaint. Then the whole thread would be derailed to highlight that you are butt heart...

Stay away or quit the hobby if that’s convenient than going to Maffle...You want to see all beautiful email transactions I have had with Maffle..Sure I can post it here..

FYI..Waffle has zero influence on this forum so everyone stop the conspiracy theories..It was closed because of the name calling and mudslinging amongst fellow DACers. If anyone wishes to discuss a negative experience with a dealer or seller it should be discussed on the General Squawk section.

Anyway, thanks Crownvic. I appreciated that you vouch that this forum does not get influenced by any seller. And I also do not deny that sometimes admin and mod and forum owner are caught in a bind between sellers and posters. But this forum is sometimes the only way for members to know these things.

I bought from Waffles before, i did not have a problem. But i just now have noticed a change to his policy that could really bother a lot of people including me, ie charging the card immediately even for preorder or special order item instead of charging at time of shipping and charging 25-50% cancellation fee even when he hasn't even placed the order yet. This is definitely a change that everyone should know. And the more informed everyone is, the better people will be able to determine what they want to do with who to buy from and not then have a bad transaction. The name calling starts when people feel that they are dealt a deceived hand. So by being informed about the good and the bad is the best way to avoid this. While I do understand a little from waffle point about possibly people canceling after he already got their item ordered, I feel that charging the cards immediately and then hold onto to people money for possibly months on end as well as the 25-50% cancel fee is not something that a lot of people would want so i think everyone needs to know. Doesn't necessarily prevent me from ever not order from waffle, but i would sure like to know about that policy upfront.

Anyway, getting back to medy, i just sent him another msg asking him to refund my money and i just call it an even day and close my case without leaving him any bad feedback. I will see how he responds.

Its so funny, someone here was asking if English was someone’s first language...Back home where I grew up, my friends would ask “did you just fart” if anyone tried to speak in English...So, it’s interesting how farting for one is a measure of clarity of communication for another one...

I learnt English out of compulsion and ended up as a janitor and even tried educating a network engineer on how to be disciplined in maintaining old records and receipts...But English is still farting according to me...

Discussion got derailed..Sorry, wanted to reiterate STAY AWAY FROM MAFFLE

This has been his policy forever, it's not a change. I've bought from him for 12 years and he's always charged immediately for preorders (any order really). Never particularly bugged me, and I've always gotten a refund on the rare occasions something went wrong on his end.

Yes please do let us know, as no one yet in the thread has confirmed that any recent transactions have completed in any normal fashion.

medy responded right on the day that ebay said they would step in if i don't hear from him (which was yesterday). Sent me a msg said he will ship it the next day (today). Still no shipping info yet but i guess it's only 2pm right now. So we will see.....

He's def playing game i think. He basically bought the label from usps on the last day before ebay takes action. Then he posted that tracking number but never bring the package to the post office. It's been a week with the tracking saying pending package acceptance.

I was guessing (and correctly) he would do this so i didn't closed my case when he posted the tracking number initially.

I have no idea why he's doing this at all. He said he hurted his back. I want to give him a break but i think he's BSing. People have been leaving him feedback for transaction from 7/25 meaning he's been shipping and setting new transactions this whole time while not shipping mine and just stringing me along

Ebay issued refund after the tracking number keeps showing package not received by usps. I have no idea why he did what he did. I want to give him the benefit of doubt but the way things went, i just think he straight up played me. He was getting feedbacks from items sold as recent as 7/25. So he was shipping packages all along the whole time while i bought mine on 6/25 and he never shipped mine.

It turned out i was able to immediately buy the same item right when ebay refunded me. New item costed about $60 more but it's actually a cosmetically perfect item while the one i bought from him has a small paint chip. The new seller already put my item into usps immediately yesterday afternoon like hours after i paid. So yeah, this additional $60 more is definitely worth it.

So sad that he did whatever he did. I tried to be nice to him the whole time but it is what it is. Guess he doesn't want my business so....

well if he did that to me I would leave negative FB! was it an auction model?? a couple of times I have won models for a great price only for seller to back out as it didn't 'sell for enough'!! if they wanted more they should put it on as buy it now.

Yes, it was auction for a gemini concorde. The price was lower than others because there was a paint chip on the model on the fuselage.

Part of me do feel like leaving a neg feedback, Part of me also want to just get on. I mean ebay has already record a negative strike on him without me leaving a feedback

I saved the ebay search so if he relists that thing again, i will see it....lol...I suspect he already sold it to someone else at higher price outside.

I have no idea why he didn't just refund me and keep stringing me along. I mean it's not like somehow he will just magically be able to keep the cash and not send the model. Also, he has his business so he can't just take off and leave ebay at a loss of the cost of refunding my money. Ebay will surely charged his account that amount

lol. The interesting thing is that there is a certain smell to the hogan and limox models i notice that is a little peculiar and almost cigar like sometimes. I notice this even from other sellers
