Default Sinsheim & Speyer 2017

Hey all

Last year my parents took me to Sinsheim and there my parents & I took a peek on what they had, even tho seeing the Tupolev Tu-144D CCCP-77112 was my main goal, since it was the closest one that I could see without the need to get a Visa and go to Russia like Mocow, Monino or Kazan instead.

So here the gallery, this will be a topic with lots of photo's Tu-144D, Concorde, Buran, B747-230B and many many more.
First I start with Sinsheim since well that is where this adventure began, so enjoy the photo's my DA.C friends

Yes...the greatest transportation museums in the world bar none!

I have visited these museums but always in the dead of winter and every time a cold sleet rain seems to fall, seeing these pics makes me want to go back...thank you for posting all the pics.
Greatly appreciated.

Here is a video of the AN 22 on its last flight to Speyer museum..Crank up the sound!!!

Very good photos GL. It's lovely that you can get inside the exhibits.
Despite spending much time in central Germany I have never been to these museums. I must do it one day now I am retired.

Hey anytime this topic took me around 3 to 4 hours but it was well worth it since these aren't all the photo's I made I left out like 50 or so, since I didn't want to make it too long
But mainly maintain the variation of things my dad & I saw, that had most impact to our minds, that was gained in a day's time our legs were in sheer pain yet we pushed on, simply we only had one day to be there, even so in the end we found out that you need at least 2 to 4 days to see every single bit, 2 days for Sinsheim and 2 for Speyer..., we stayed at a campsite about 30 minutes from Sinsheim & Speyer in, we stayed there for a week to rest out, but in the end it's well worth it also the most complete and largest transportation collection in the world, it's also part of the World Heritage as well, a must see
As for that video I remember seeing that on YT some time ago, pretty darn impressive for sure

Well make sure you spend to to 4 days, it's really too big to do it all in one day, my dad has terminal bone marrow cancer but a very slow variant of it his legs were in loads of pain as where I have a painful and chronic variant of Sarcoidosis, mainly I get heavy arthritis like pain attacks on a daily basis as for my father he loses the feeling in his legs, yet if pain takes over for both of us we are pretty mucked cooked and done for, even so our adrenaline was high enough to master these two museums in one day, yet in the end we both noticed it was a bad idea since we had to rest out for 7 days at the campsite where we were located at, 2 days for Sinsheim and 1 to2 days for Speyer would of been a wiser plan in the end.

All in all it's a must see, everything from the exhibition to your inside & outside displays they even have a 4K IMAX theater you can see movies there but also documentaries, everything it's all possible.

Hey Gold Leader, so I went ahead and stitched together a panorama based on three of your images of the Buran museum. I have a special program that blends images together seamlessly, as long as your pivot point is perfectly centered. If you divert a little bit from where you're standing, flaws become more noticeable. It took a couple hours to fix what I could in Photoshop, but looking closely you'll still notice where the software limitations couldn't fully compensate for your movements. Regardless, I think the final image came out really nice.

Let me know what you think. FYI, in the future if you want something like this done, remember to stand perfectly in one spot while pivoting ONLY the camera lens left or right.

Hah that is fabulous xD

And I will remember that, with a tri-pod that could be easier hmm.
But I don[t think I will be going back there again anytime soon, it's not close to where I live and I can't drive or travel alone I am always limited to such things, where my parents go I do sometimes follow, this was one of those cases.

But yea, I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Great job and a great program. Thanks!
Thank you kindly. Oh! I forgot to mention, make sure that in each sequential image that there is a little bit of overlapping of the previous image so that the software has reference points to work from. In other words: if there is a static item like a telephone booth, or sign, or tree, etc., near the edge of the previous image, make sure that it gets included in the next image when you turn the camera. Understand? That's how the program knows it's dealing with a panorama. Cheers.
