Default Quick Introduction

Thought I would make a quick introduction since I am new here. I was into diecast cars for quite some time back in the late 90s and early 2000 and before that when I was a kid and a teenager I built plastic models. I am now in my late 30s and wanting to get into Diecast aircraft probably in the 1:72 scale with a focus on military. I am into DCS world simulator and thats why I think I would like to combine my love for flying the simulator with my love for diecast models. I know next to nothing about diecast aircraft models so please forgive the questions I will probably have about quality and brands, but I look forward to my time here and look forward to my first model.

Welcome Agentdarnell,

Looking forward to seeing you in the military section, please do ask as many questions as you like. Also don't forget to look up the search function as there might be a thread on it already.

Hope you find diecast aircraft collecting as enjoyable as diecast cars (which btw, us aircraft guys are jealous of the quality of cars)

Also I hope you like lots of humour

Welcome to the forum. May I also suggest you take a look at commercial aircraft models as well. You can see on the forum there are 3 main scales - 1:200, 1:400 and 1:500

I did start off with 1/72 military and then discovered 1/200 diecast airliners and was hooked. For this scale I find it compliments my military models quite well not to mention the cross over with say a 1/200 C-17. You won't find that aircraft in 1/72

ps I do also have a diecast car collection, mainly AUTOart and Kyosho in 1/18 and a few 1/43 in other brands
