Default Celebs who said they’d leave country if Trump won! Start Packing! LOL!

Well the folks listed below did the "Talk the Talk"; now let's see if they have any class/integrity and do the "Walk the Walk"? Cheers! T7

========================================

The threat is a common one after any election outcome: Canada’s immigration website crashed from heavy traffic as it looked increasingly likely that Trump would win.

But after the real estate mogul clinched the presidency in a stunning victory early Wednesday morning, some of those stars will face questions about making good on their promise.

Here is a list of some of the celebs who claimed they would move out of the U.S. under a Trump administration.

Actors

Bryan Cranston said he hopes he doesn’t have to pack his bags, but would “definitely move” if Trump won. “Absolutely, I would definitely move,” the “Breaking Bad” star said on “The Bestseller Experiment” podcast. “It’s not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won’t.”

Samuel L. Jackson slammed Trump for running a “hate”-filled campaign and said he would move to South Africa if he wins. “If that motherf---er becomes president, I’m moving my black *** to South Africa,” the movie star quipped to Jimmy Kimmel.

Lena Dunham told Andy Cohen at the Matrix Awards that “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver.” The star and creator of HBO’s “Girls” has been a vocal advocate for the Democratic nominee.

Neve Campbell, an actress on the political drama “House of Cards,” vowed to move back home to Canada, while “Orange is the New Black” actress Natasha Lyonne said she would hightail it to a mental hospital.

Singers

Cher tweeted this summer that if Trump gets elected, “I’m moving to Jupiter.”

Miley Cyrus wrote in an emotional Instagram post in March that tears were running down her cheek and she was unbelievably scared and sad. “I am moving if he is president,” the young pop star said. “I don’t say things I don’t mean!”

Barbara Streisand, a vocal Clinton supporter, told “60 Minutes” that “I’m either coming to your country if you’ll let me in, or Canada.”

Ne-Yo told TMZ last month that he’d move to Canada and be neighbors with fellow R&B singer Drake if the country elected Trump.

Comedians

Comedian Amy Schumer said in September that Spain would be her destination of choice.

“My act will change because I will need to learn to speak Spanish,” Schumer said in an appearance on the BBC’s “Newsnight.” “Because I will move to Spain or somewhere. It’s beyond my comprehension if Trump won. It’s just too crazy.”

Chelsea Handler said she already made contingency plans months ago.

“I did buy a house in another country just in case,” the comedian and talk show host said during an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Michael” in May. “So all these people that threaten to leave the country and then don’t — I actually will leave that country.”

Former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart said he would consider “getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet’s gone bonkers” if the real estate mogul wins.

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of the “The View”, said on an episode of the talk show earlier this year that if the country elects Trump, “maybe it’s time for me to move, you know. I can afford to go.”

Keegan-Michael Key said he would flee north to Canada. “It’s like, 10 minutes from Detroit,” the comedian told TMZ in January. “That’s where I’m from; my mom lives there. It’d make her happy too.”

Hispanic comedian George Lopez said Trump “won’t have to worry about immigration” if he takes the White House because “we’ll all go back.”

Political Figures

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg joked in an interview with The New York Times in July that it’d be time to move to New Zealand if Trump were to win.

“Now it’s time for us to move to New Zealand,” she said quoting her husband who died in 2010. “I can’t imagine what the country would be with Donald Trump as our president. For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.”

Ginsburg later apologized for her comments, calling them “ill-advised.”

Civil rights activist Al Sharpton told a reporter earlier this year that he’s “reserving my ticket out of here if [Trump] wins.”

Can we start a thread now to look back on in 4 years time pointing at voters who believed America would be great again ?

Quite funny to see people who've made a very nice living from the entertainment industry (allegedly an industry dominated by white misogynists) complaing about someone who is possibly/probably/maybe an, erm, well y'know...

Sorry, did I say 'funny'? I meant 'pathetic'.

I'm wholly unsure about Trump but some of the Clintonites were truly graceless in defeat... "I'm very disappointed in the American people" those kind of remarks...

1. Isn't that what Adolf said about the German people when he lost?
2. It's a democracy (these things happen).
3. Protecting minorities is fine by me, eradicating urban poverty is fine by me but don't ignore the needs and aspirations of the majority either... strikes me that the democrats in those big urban centres are/have failed to focus on the flyover states to some degree - don't whinge about it now.

SLJ - Good luck in SA, I'm sure you'll find an equitable, affluent society and a just, incorruptable political & judicial system over there.

Whoopi, yes you do have the money - you are every inch the true socialist!

Miley Cyrus - #youterrifymecreepylittlegirl

Can we crowdfund that Cher to Jupiter thing?

Excellent analysis IMHO, bravo!

And regarding this point in particular...

Miley Cyrus#youterrifymecreepylittlegirl

Will this clueless little twit ever learn how to keep her tongue in her mouth, as opposed to looking like she's auditioning for a remake of the Exorcist..

America isn't sending their best. They're sending socialists, they're sending liberals, they're sending celebrities, and some I assume are good people.

One thing I knew about this election, whoever won it would face an uphill battle. I thought this would be Clinton, but in a way I am glad its Trump.

So for you people gloating, remember this:

The GOP controls the both houses of Congress, the Presidency, the Supreme Court and most of the state governments. This disaster means the Democrats are totally out of power which means there will be no more gridlock for at least until the mid-terms. Also keep in mind that it looks like Hillary actually won the popular vote which means a lot of people are really pissed off their candidate still lost even though she won the vote.

Therefore in 2020, NO EXCUSES WILL BE TOLERATED. You will not be able to blame the Democrats. I seriously doubt Trump ability as President and if Trump/GOP don't bring home the bacon in 2020 they will not be able to blame anyone else for it. Trump has promised a lot, some of which (like Mexico paying for the wall) he will not be able to deliver on. The Mexican have told him today to piss off.

You also have the fact that Trump is still an assh**e. His big mouth and ego, which will now be unchecked is going to be a liability making him enemies everywhere. Nor in 2020 will the GOP be able to play the anti-establishment/outsider card like they did this year.

Hillary is finished, she will not run again. Too old, given that she also lost to Obama in 2008 she's her two chances and she blew it.

All the Democrats have to do is pick some not so unlikable as Hillary and Trump will be a 1-term presidency.

There is a flip side to that. As you said, the Republicans have the House, Senate, and the Presidency. Perhaps the Democrats need to rethink their platform. They can blame Hillary and certainly a lot of people didn't like her but she's not to blame for the continued minority in Congress.

No because Obama is still very popular in America and they actually gained 2 seats in the senate (just not the 4 they needed). Its not their platform, on the issues most people agree with Democrats than Republicans. The problem the democrats have is how they connect to voters. The problem this election was Hillary. Hillary had a 60% negative view in the USA and for some reason (arrogance) the DNC see this as a problem.

Obama won because he was able to connect on a message of change.
Trump won because he had connected with a message of fear and hatred of the establishment

Hillary lost, not because her facts and figures weren't wrong but because she cast herself as the arrogant and selfish establishment elite. They message she carried seemingly ignored main-street (which is precisely what the Bernie supporters warned about) and she didn't even have the good sense to toss the liberal wing (Bernie supporters) a bone after she won the nomination by picking a liberal running mate. She chose another moderate Democrat like herself as a running mate. She just assumed they were going to get in line behind her, and alot of her base, espicially in the rust belt stayed home or voted for Trump.

Don't count on them going. Here in the UK we're still stuck with Jamie Oliver who made the same threat before Brexit.

Amy Schumer has already said she was just joking and isn't moving to Canada.
Too bad.

I would much rather see Lena Dunham follow through on her promise to leave.

The funniest part here is that Lena Dunham hasn't made a single tweet since the 8th.

She was all over social media before hand with, "#IStandWithHer".

I guess she didn't stand hard enough?

Maybe she's just too busy writing her next book that she'll have to later defend.

Canada may have to build a wall to keep these "deplorables" out!

But the U.S. will pay for it!

Thought it was Spain?

Either way, I wonder if she's made good on distancing all of her high-school friends who voted for Trump as she threatened to do in an online "Vogue" interview?

Would like to see the stats on that.

After hearing that comment, I instantly cancelled my book order and saved my $20.00.

It's the Moose Rider, a hero in Canadian folk lore.

Legend has it he rides Bullwinkle, a black, 6-foot-high moose and carries a silenced AR-15.

Ah. The weather is not so bad up here. I grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario (tip of Lake Superior), about 7 hours from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Playing outdoor hockey when it's -52c is a bit cold, but some tasty hot chocolate is waiting for you after the game.

I lived in Phoenix AZ a few years back when I was an IT consultant. Enjoyed the weather there, along with the MTN Biking, Golfing, Hiking down into the Grand Canyon, etc.. Strange to see parts of the city turn into a ghost town in the summer between 11am to 3pm; all due to the excessive heat. However, I got into a rut when I would wake up to the SUN every single day , I actually wanted to see a cloudy day once in awhile. I enjoy the 4 seasons up here (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall). Would like to return to the desert one of these days with my family for a vacation, when it's winter up here! Cheers! T7

Looks like another celeb could not 'walk the walk', she 'the tongue' is not packing. Not a shock that any of these celebs could NOT follow through with their threats to leave the USA. All their chest thumping turned out in the end to be nothing but hot air for the attention!

Just to be clear, I have nothing against Canada or Canadians, my comment was just a little sarcastic dig at the "suggestion" earlier that Canada build a wall to keep out deplorables, that's all...

AZ is hotter than hades in the summertime... but it's a dry heat.. but the winter weather is among the finest to be found anywhere, heck they even have snow if you really want it, just a short drive up in to the mountains and bingo, you've all the snow you could ever want.

Greetings, all cool on my end. I have a sense of humor and take all good banter in stride on the DAC.

I remember one day when it dropped to 60F in Phoenix and my lady co-worker wore a down jacket, she complained it was too cold. I was in my shorts and golf shirt at the office and she asked me why I wasn't cold, I told her that 60F is very pleasant up in Canada, especially when you come from Northern Ontario, !

I sure miss the golf courses in Arizona (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Yuma, Tucson, etc.) Kinda cool to have some guy zipping around a golf cart handing out frozen towels to golf nuts that were golfing in the dead heat of summer! Like me! The spray misters on some golf carts were also a nice add-on.

A friend emailed the below to me, had to share --

Crisis at the Canadian Border *

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration.* The election of The Donald is prompting a mass exodus among left leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, and live according to conservative ideas about the Constitution.
Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, global warming activists, and "green" energy proponents crossing their fields at night.
"I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota .* “The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry.* He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"
In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them.* He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields, but they just keep coming.
Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into electric cars* and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves after the battery dies.
"A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said.* "I found one carload without a single bottle of Perrier drinking water.* They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though, and some kale chips."
When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives.* Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and study the Constitution.
In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border.* Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs.* After catching a half- dozen young vegans in blue-hair wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50's. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.*
*Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage, buying up all the Barbara Streisand c.d.'s, and renting all the Michael Moore movies.* "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said.* "How many art-history majors does one country need?"
*

Art imitating life?

Looks like Chris Evans (Captain America) was a very pro-Hillary supporter and was no too happy about Mr. Trump becoming the 45th US President. However, Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) is a staunch Republican supporter/backer. Can you say Marvel's 'Civil War'! ! Cheers! T7 (or is it Life imitating Art?)

Chris Evans was left "devastated" after Donald Trump sensationally beat Hillary Clinton to be named the next U.S. President.

Captain America star Chris Evans admitted he was "embarrassed" of his country for electing Donald Trump as the next U.S. President over Hillary Clinton.

The Republican candidate was widely considered to be the underdog in the U.S. presidential race, but managed to secure victory after winning several key swing states from Clinton, including Ohio and Florida.

Evans, who plays Captain America in The Avengers movies and spin-offs, was one of the first to take to Twitter after news of the win was announced, slamming his country for voting Trump into the White House.

"This is an embarrassing night for America," he wrote. "We've let a hatemonger lead our great nation. We've let a bully set our course. I'm devastated."

Ted and Family Guy comedian Seth MacFarlane failed to see any funny side of the election result, tweeting: "I truly cannot visualize the rambling, incoherent creature I saw at the debates now addressing the nation from the Oval Office."

He later added: "Some didn't like Bush. Some didn't like Obama. But this is different. Forget dislike. Many are genuinely fearful now. This is new."

Former One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush pleaded with the American population not to despair following Trump's win, writing: "I still believe in us. Despite this evident, great divide. It's time to come together. Hear each other. Not give up, cry, or gloat. Unite."
But I Love You, Man actress Rashida Jones was less optimistic, tweeting: "I want to quit life."

Ex Charmed star Holly Marie Combs was in a state of shock over the result, telling her followers: "I do not recognize this world we live in. And I do not accept it. I do not. Nope. And nope."

Others commented on Trump's reportedly sexist, misogynistic and racist past during the campaign, with Pretty Little Liars hunk Keegan Allen writing: "America just elected a man who said to 'grab em by the p***y' over the first female president. This is really sad."

Meanwhile, Nashville star Connie Britton wrote, "Dear Muslim, Mexican, immigrant, refugee, handicapped, black, gay, female humans beings, & also dear Earth...you are not forgotten. Promise," while 30 Rock's Will Arnett tweeted, "How do we explain this to future generations of women? And minorities?#weshouldbeashamedofourselves."

Kirstie Alley was one of the few famous faces backing Trump, and tweeted: "CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT TRUMP! @realDonaldTrump against all odds ..against the establishment and even against most from the GOP..U did it!"

Steven Seagal added: "Congratulations @realDonaldTrump for your stunning victory over your opponent! Looking forward to making AMERICA great again!"

Yep. They don't call it the General Squawk Talk section for nothing. Anything off topic usually works. I have about 150+ relatives that are American citizens, so it was interesting to hear their feedback after their election. Half were pissed, Half were happy. But, they all still get along and I wish them all the best for the next 4 years with their duly elected president.

Funny thing after our Canadian General Election last year, not one Canadian celebrity threatened to leave for the USA, based on the outcome. I think the reason for that is most of them have already setup shop/roots in the USA!

My apologies, I will have to respond back in more detail to this post after I get back from my 9 to 5 office job. Sorry, you now have to resort to personal insults directed towards myself and another member within my thread. Cheers! T7

All righty! You've got my full attention now. Where do you see any DAC posts of mine that I personally support The Donald?

If you did your research, you would've come across this post I made back on June 8, 2016 in the DAC thread 'Presidential Predictions for NOV 2016'.

http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...ov-2016-a.html

As you can see, I was backing Mrs. Clinton. Show me any of my posts where I gave the props to Mr. Trump? You won't find any.

The thread I started with 'Hillary and the outrageous things she said to the FBI' I personally couldn't believe her responses to the FBI would be so 'far fetched' that any sane person would have them shaking their heads in disbelief.

This thread has nothing to do with supporting Trump. It's the crazy things that celebrities spout and that we the public should actually heed their calls. Based on the fact that none of these celebrities are following through with their threats to leave the USA = show's their true character and lack of integrity.

Re: Presidential Predictions for NOV 2016

I predicted the USA will get their 1st female president, and that will not change on my part. I will also state that the president that will follow Hilary will be of Latino descent. Cheers! T7

I feel sad and sorry for what's been happening to our neighbours in the south. School children being openly bullied by their fellow students with chants = Build the Wall with latino children sobbing in the cafeteria. Or some students actually creating 'deportation order' paperwork for other students of latino/muslim background. That's absolutely horrific; if there's one place that children should be shielded from all this political craziness is that of a school/learning institution. It's like open season on all immigrants now that Trump is the 45th president. I saw a news article that a KLU KLUX KLAN chapter will be holding a victory parade in honor of Mr. Trump. Sorry, that is absolutely nuts to me!

I was absolutely floored that Mr. Trump won and it affects me personally, due to all my relatives in the states. Half were Clinton fans, other half were Trump fans. I being Canuck was neutral, but stuck to my prediction that Clinton would prevail. My prediction was proven incorrect, based on the electoral voting system.

That's pretty funny! Thank you for sharing the vid on this thread.

I think celebrities are here to entertain us; not to influence people on how to personally vote. But others may disagree with that comment, which is cool.

It's called virtue signalling. It's the most dishonest form of slacktivism and it's more transparent than glass.

What's wrong with moving to Mexico?
Much cheaper to live there and unemployed actors with a nest egg could live very comfortably during their self imposed retirement

Cuba is even better. Seriously, I recently spent a week there and loved it. No crime, very safe, wonderful people and cheap to live.

Nothing wrong with living out your life in warmer temps. Also, today's currency exchange shows $ 1 USD = $ 1.35 CDN, $ 1 USD = $20.62 Mexican Pesos.

Looks like your US buck goes a bit farther in Mexico.
