Default Tesla announces fully self-driving cars!

Well, we all knew this was coming sooner rather than later.

I have a question for Elon Musk = when a person accidentally steps in front of the moving Tesla going 45+ mph will the Tesla swerve to avoid running over the person? Or does it's AI system kick in and weighs the options; swerving may put the vehicle in extreme danger along with it's occupant and possibly other folks on the sidewalk or other oncoming motorists (smacking head on into another car going the opposite direction), so best to run over the person.

I'm guessing the brakes & airbags may kick in; but that pedestrian is still going to be smacked into the windshield and flipped a few times in the air.

If people start to rely on current technology automatically piloted vehicles to do their driving for them, it'll be like the streets of Beijing everywhere.

I dare say that if people don't like driving, there is a marvelous invention which will suit them perfectly: the bus!

I like self driving cars, I think it is great for some people because it costs no time to drive, they can do other thinvs in the car

This half baked idea will work well, tell me are these ideas for people who are lazy or just plain stupid to be driving

I wouldn't trust a self driving car if I was the driver.

Elon Musk may be a genius, but I still believe Nikola Tesla would laugh at his efforts and probably do them better himself. I'd almost imagine Tesla would be insulted by the car being named after him.

With this Tesla accident happening not far from me recently, i would never trust a self-driving automobile.

Nation's first known self-driving car fatality happened in Williston - News - Gainesville Sun - Gainesville, FL

The company was named after Nikola Tesla because the cars are powered by an alternating current motor - the same alternating current motors that are descendant from Tesla's 1882 design.

I think Tesla would be honoured to see his discovery still hold so much weight.

Now, if only Tesla cars looked less like ugly 2005 Mazda 3s and more like the gorgeous Porsche Mission E concept.
