Default Presidential Predictions for NOV 2016

Hey everyone ... this isn't meant to be a political discussion in terms of viewpoints and detailed opinion.

I was having lunch with my former boss from Mazda today and he asked me who I thought was gonna win the Presidential election this November. Although I had an "idea" what his political affiliation was, he was never very open about his political views when I worked for him, so I really wasn't sure.

So I told him who I thought was gonna win ... and he goes ... "You TOO???"

In light of that, I thought I would start this thread on your PREDICTIONS (only) of who is gonna win. Predictions don't MEAN you support the candidate --- it only means who you THINK is gonna win. Just like in sports, you might favor one team, but still predict they may LOSE ... it's all very benign.

So let me start off here ... I predict the WINNER of the 2016 Presidential Election for the United States of America will be ...

... Mr. Donald Duck ... err Trump!

So who's YOUR pick to win? Let's have some fun with this ...

My prediction is that Clinton will win the election. "They" just won't let Trump win. There will be a throw party candidate that takes more votes away from Trump than Clinton, which doesn't make sense either. It's a real bummer that the Unites State's first female president will be Hilary Clinton.

I won't mine having Hilary Clinton as first female president. it is a better choice than Donald Trump. she even said in a speech that do we really want Trump as the next president and having all of america's atomic weapons within easy reach for him!

Nobody is pushing any buttons, but hear you. We may have different opinions politically...hell, there may be a lot that we agree upon as well...but my point was that for our first female president I would have loved it to be someone self made, without political baggage like Bengahzi, and without a cheating sitting president for a husband.

Also...Bush, Clinton, Bush, xxx, Clinton. Look what we've become... If HRC serves two terms, by 2024 that will be a Bush or a Clinton in the Oval Office for 28 out of the last 36 years. Slap a "King" or "Queen" on it, why don't ya.

Personally, I think that Clinton will clinch it, but by a very small margin. Plenty more spit and bile to come I think, a bit like here with our EU referendum.....out please!

They're both criminals. If you think Trump is clean and honest, you're just fooling yourself. Trump has no desire to be a full time president. Within a few months he's going to want out. Persistent rumors from former campaign staffers indicate he has no desire to win and is surprised he's gotten this far.

Personally I think Clinton will win, but I can't stand either of them. Our options in the U.S. are abysmal this year. Truly talented, worthwhile candidates are nowhere to be found since the best of the best wouldn't touch this job with a ten foot pole. ANY president in recent times is merely a puppet for the corporate elite who also have congress in their hip pocket. They take delight in watching the "liberal" and "conservative" citizens of our country duke it out over stupid arguments while they sit back and rape us blind.

Well, start practicing on saying the following:

- Eh (every 3rd or 4th word in your conversations)

- 'I'm sorry (every time you pass within 1 foot of total strangers while walking, etc.)

- "double - double" (when you visit a Tim Hortons - you can find these everywhere in Canada)

That's it for now! Cheers! T7

Glad there are more partakers ... GREAT!

Let me further elaborate on my personal prediction regarding Trump's victory in November ... it won't even be close ... it'll be of landslide proportions ... I believe Trump supporters (not necessarily traditional elitist republicans) will come out of the woodwork and we'll be seeing a HUGE turnout for a Presidential election unlike any we've seen in a long time.

And "Here! Here!"

Clinton will win, although it will be close. By insulting latinos Trump sealed his own doom.

I don't like Clinton, (I'd even prefer Warren even though she is more liberal than I) but it really tells you something when a candidates own political party wont get behind the nominee. The fact is: Trump has neither the intelligence, the experience, and especially the personal temperament to be president. He excels at two things only: bragging about himself and insulting other people.

It just irritates me that I have to vote for Clinton to make sure Trump doesn't become President.

I wish it was Trump the winner, but I think Clinton will be elected.
Trump has alienated a lot of women with his rants.
Both are useless candidates, Trump being the less dangerous as far as foreign policy is concerned.

Clinton will win.

Trump's campaign slogan should be "Make America Racist Again." He is a disaster for the Republican party and the damage he causes could take a decade to recover from.

I believe many are underestimating the support level for Trump in the country. There is a very large majority of pissed off people in this country, because the current establishment politicians (both Republican and Democrat) are doing such a poor job.

Trump represents all these pissed off people and he is not part of the establishment. Added to this, there are a lot of democrats and independents that don't like Hillary. The Bernie Sanders supporters don't like Hillary and many will go to Trump.

So by my comments, you know what my prediction is.

I agree with mostly everything except the last bit.

There are two reasons for this:

1. Its true Bernie supports don't like Hillary (including myself), but they hate Trump even more. Hillary and Bernie agree on more than they disagree. The biggest problem with Hillary is a question about her trustworthiness. However, most Democrats are issues voters, and on the issues Trump is like the anti-Christ to liberals.

2. Hillary is not stupid and is keenly aware of the problem. Which is why she will likely nominate someone with very strong Liberal Credentials like Elisabeth Warren or Sherrod Brown to appease Bernie Supporters.

That is why, in the end, given the choice between Hillary or Trump, most Bernie supporters will vote for Hillary.

Let me finish that quote... "There is a very large majority of pissed off low educated white people in this country". And because of that Trump's chances of winning are not very big as those that do not fall into that catagory will come out en masse as well to make a statement and rather outnumber the Trumpists.

Ever been to NYC, Boston or Chicago on Saint Patricks Day or Columbus Day? You will see thousands of Irish and Italian flags. Nobody seems to mind then, in fact most people think its awesome. So Mexican Americans are proud of their heritage, nothing wrong with that.

As for burning US flags, you think Mexican-Americans are the only ones who have done that? A few disrespectful morons doesn't represent the majority.

The fact is that Latinos make up the second largest voting block after Caucasians, Trump insulting them is particularly unwise if he actually means to win the election.

Well,if CNN is accurate,Mr.Trump only has 20% of the Latino vote. If it stays that way, according to CNN,he will not win. I think what has everyone fired up is we have never seen a candidate with Mr.Trumps approach. The wall, the tiff with the pope,I could keep going. Will the email scandal continue to follow Mrs.Clinton? We will see.

I know business people who support Trump, but when you ask any of them what he really stands for they have not got a clue - then again Trump doesn't have a clue how to run anything in government. The U.S. government might be in bad shape right now, but Trump has no understanding of how to fix it. This is not "The Apprentice" or a business deal for some casino. Worse yet, Trump's own previous staffers have openly stated he's all over the map. You can not be the head of the most powerful country in the world and behave that way. Period - end of story. Clinton is far from a great candidate (and I personally don't like or trust her), but given a choice between the two of them I would trust her more than Trump to handle government matters and world politics.

No matter who you support, there are no good choices in the U.S. political system. They're all bought and sold by the highest bidders. You may say Trump doesn't answer to the money elite, but then again he's part of that elite. He doesn't give a damn about the average American. His appeal is that he "tells it like it is" but in reality he tells it the way he thinks will get him the most attention and money. You think Clinton is a liar vs. Trump being squeaky clean? Trump wrote the book on lying, cheating, and deception. He's as much a disgrace as the rest of the lying cheating politicians in this country.

If an illegal is an undocumented immigrant then every thief is an undocumented purchaser.
It isn't? Both those groups arrived here as immigrants (legal or otherwise) and both faced the same discrimination as Mexican-Americans. I'd say the situation is practically identical.

Moreover, its becoming increasingly evident that its not the fact they are illegal that is the problem, its the fact they are Mexican. Trump himself proved this when he attacked a federal judge as being 'Mexican', even though he was born in Indiana.

There is something very ugly behind the veneer of just merely wanting to control illegal immigration which by the way is Net 0. (Meaning as many illegals left the US as those that arrived).

Exactly, you can sum Clinton and Trump this way:

Clinton: A shill for the corrupt monied elite.
Trump: A member of that corrupt monied elite.

Yes, but how many of them are 'attracted' by Mrs. Clinton and vote for her? There could be many no-shows for Mrs. Clinton on the election day as she simply isn't popular and convincing, which will help Mr. Trump.. When there are two proven bad candidates (Email vs. University), many will just not go. Trump has the momentum and the power to attract people and to create a movement. That's why Mrs. Clinton actually lost against Obama in the past and it may repeat itsself, just on another level..

If Cruella De Vil is elected that's the final nail in the coffin for this once great country of ours.

Actually, TRUTH be TOLD, I was a BRITISH Subject BEFORE becoming a naturalized U.S. Citizen ... born in West London at Hammersmith Hospital no less. Lived in a "fog" for all of 2 years before making our way across the pond.

You make a valid point. People may not like either of them,so they just won't vote.

You overestimate Trump's strengths and momentum. New allegations and revelations come out about him every day (as well as Clinton). There will likely be many people on both sides who choose not to vote. The comments that frustrated Sanders supporters will vote for Trump is preposterous. Sanders, whether people liked him or not, was probably the closest thing to a principled, honest candidate. There was no baggage with him other than the ridiculous comments that he's a "socialist". Most people in the U.S. have no idea what a "socialist" is - especially a democratic socialist. They have a knee jerk reaction that Sanders is a "communist". He's not and does not support communist or true socialist views. I would have voted for him had he made it through the primaries as the only truly non-establishment candidate in the race.

Apparently last night's Orlando massacre is said to be by an extremist.
If this indeed is proven to be so, Trump will definitely gain momentum.

Great discussion here! It's political and it should be discussed. I'm glad people here are expressing their opinions...agreeing, disagreeing, and debating. That's the way a strong democracy should behave - No? It's fantastic!

Just a comment.. It's tough to say that Trump is fake and doesn't care about middle America, when in fact his remarks on the "Mexican" judge reflect the way he genuinely sees different flags and ethnicities. If you know anybody over 50 years old, then you probably know a "racist". There are 100 million good people in the U.S. that see racism in a different way. Is it right? Probably not. But it's a sign of cultured evolution that the new guard is more sensitive than the old. But let's not damn the old for the how they have been affected by the world in which they were raised. At some point in their lives, their connection to their ancestry or homeland was questioned. So they do what's natural - they throw it back. It's not crazy to at least understand this.

Great point! ...And he should. He talks tough on terrorism, and the democrats simply have a different way of going about it.

Trump says exactly what's on his mind, in other words he speaks without worrying about stepping on someone's toes. Hilary I'm sure is thinking more or less the same after Orlando but of course she and Obama will say it's an isolated incident and it won't happen again. This will never end with Hilary in office.

I'd like to see politicians live under the same rules that they dictate to the rest of us. As far as flag burning goes I wonder what the reaction would be if an American burned the Mexican flag in Mexico? I'm rolling the dice on Trump but if that fails I can always hang the flag in distress.

I can only imagine that whoever wins, the country will be divided. Nothing new there though... it's been divided by the current WH occupant for the past 7+ years.

Since this is actually the second time its happened, (the first being in San Bernardino, Ca) I highly doubt they are thinking its isolated.

I think its far more likely to happened under Trump simply because every time he opens his mouth he manages to piss someone off, (Muslims especially). That's why its so important not to elect a hater, because all they do is serve a ISIS recruiting advertisement for every Islamic fundamentalist wack job out there.

You act as though Trump's foul-mouthed say whatever you want is a good thing. That's a very naive approach to politics and reality. Worse yet, he doesn't even think or care what comes out of his mouth. Do you honestly think his comments that Obama is somehow sympathetic to ISIS or supporting them in some manner was appropriate or correct? If you do, there's nothing more to say to you. Whether you like Obama or not, Trump's comments were not only totally wrong, but completely unprofessional and inappropriate. You may like his "smash mouth" approach, but in the real world that won't get you anywhere. I also find it interesting that Trump says he'd be willing to sit down with that nutjob in North Korea and there's little outrage in the media. But when Obama said he'd be willing to sit down with Iranian leaders if the right circumstances were developed, he was skewered for weeks by the "opposition". What a double standard, but then again the "opposition" made it their goal from day 1 to obstruct anything this administration tried to do.

I am far from an Obama or Hillary fan boy, but I also know that Trump is a despicable human being with no moral compass whatsoever. Just because you talk tough doesn't mean you have a clue. He has NO clues and is incredibly dangerous for this country and the world. With all of her numerous faults, Hillary is a far "lesser of two evils" than Trump could ever be.

No matter who wins, it will be another 4 years of "nothing gets done" B.S. This country is screwed beyond belief due to partisan bickering and the "handlers" that control our bought and sold government.
