Thumbs up ILS Landing in FSX - Toronto to Ottawa

Hey collectors!

Today I successfully completed my first ILS (Instrument Landing System) in Flight Simulator X (FSX)! I flew in a 737-800 from Toronto Pearson (CYYZ) to Ottawa (CYOW). It takes about an hour and a half including taxiing too fly there. It's very fun and challenging, but I got it after a few tries!

FS is great fun, eh? I use FS9 (also have FSX installed). Especially challenging when using real-world weather. In case you have issues with the default weather engine (seems it may no longer be reliable) try Active Sky (latest version here) & happy flying!

Try the back course to RWY25 in Ottawa. Then you'll have some real fun!

Thank you for the suggestion. Sadly, my computer is only a laptop and if I get these weather add ons, it'll probably make my FPS to 3/sec. I already get a sluggish 4-8/sec at YYZ... 20 at YOW. Much better FPS like 30 when at 38000 FT.

If only in real life the FPS would drop to 3 frames per second.
Thats would make the loc back and VOR/DME much easier

I use fsx just for fun every now and again. I run it in a laptop and using any kind of weather kills fps. I've been working on my private pilots license in real life. Almost have it just need to take the written and oral exam and the check ride. I have completed all the other flying requirements and then some. Hoping to have it all done in a few months and then begin the instrument rating. Also at some point in the next year I'd like to purchase my own aircraft, thinkin a piper cherokee.

Cheers,
Greg
