Default Yesterdays Storm at EHAM

Aaah a classic western storm hit my little country yesterday and it made for some spectaculair approach video's made by spotters here at EHAM.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02dd...layer_embedded

Look at this 777 getting tumble dryed by +50 kts gusts at rwy 27.

These Guys/girls certainly worked for the money

That was a real smooth touch down despite those rough conditions, great video!

Beautiful and well done !

I'm sure the PF (Pilot Flying) will remember this approach.
In a career, there are a few ones we remember …

I attach a document, strong crosswind from the left, wet runway, the plane has just touched down but it is still flying, stick to the left and opposite rudder … just like a light aircraft.

Jean Pierre.

Yeah the 747 especially when it's empty or light in these conditions really wants to keep flying .
And an empty take off is something to behold aswell , the VS indic needle hitting the stopper lol
When we still operated the 767-300 we flew them to Ireland for maint. offcourse empty with the seats removed.
Man that thing really went balistic on take off , offcourse great fun for the assigned crew who almost experienced a AV-8 harrier style take off lol
