Smile Jumbo - The Plane that Changed the World

Just thought some of you would like to know about this, its a really good program about the 747 on BBC 2. The Dreamliner comes in at the end.

Wonder what juan trippe would have thought of the A380, Boeing had the A380 nearly 50 years ago but just didnt fancy it.

It would have been cool if a airline named a 747 joe sutter

That's what I was thinking! It's funny how it was only a single aisle though. It would of been like a double deck 757. Lol!

Great programme and Gimala is a git because now i want a phoenix 1:400 boeing 748, and obviously wont be able to find one.

Forget EK, SIA, QR, CX, QF, MAS, KE, LH, BA and everyone else with their F class suites and whatnot. THIS was what was called travelling in style.

Right On with your presentation! I do believe Mr. Juan Trippe asked his buddy Bill Allen at Boeing to develop a much bigger plane than the B707 and that it's primary function/goal was to haul cargo for Pan AM. I really don't know if there was another aviation pioneer like Juan out there that would have tasked Bill Allen, if Juan had not? Well, all things worked out in the end = the iconic B747 was born much to the delight of all aviation buffs around the globe! All hail the B747! Cheers! T7
