I was lucky enough to get a seat on the 2nd to last scenic flight around Christchurch City NZ. Attached is a movie I made of the flight with Windows Movie Maker. I do not pretend to be any good at this stuff but I gave it a good go. The music is to cover my hideous voice and the voices of others that were around me at the time.
The flight lasted around 30 minutes, it felt more like 10 minutes, but they do say - "Time flies when you're having fun!" Oh so true.
The price of $145 NZD wasn't too bad considering the birds age and the feeling you get when she takes off. $145 was worth the buzz.
The movie does show off some of the Earthquake damage the city suffered in 2011. It is obvious to me, but it may not be obvious to most of you, unless of course you have seen Christchurch City from the sky before.
I hope its of some interest to someone out there. I made it so that I would always have something to remember my flight, and the hope that other plane mad people might get a kick out of too.
Near the bottom there are two links, one is for the Scenic Route the DC-3 took and the other is the movie which I made of the flight. I am unsure why they are showing as just links rather than image and video . . . .
Here is a link to the Southern Trust DC-3 website, should anyone been keen on knowing a little more about the aircraft, its history and future.
