I will be watching this as well, love that Val and Anthony got rolls in it...not so sure about the choice of aircraft they used to re enact scenes from topgun though. Thats like hallowed ground that shouldn't be walked on

Not trying to be Mr Thesaurus, but I think you mean "hallowed ground".

Too bad that "Skipper" wasn't voiced by Robert Conrad! However, I think he's now a bit too frail and weak to do even voice over work for Hollywood. Would have been cool to hear his voice when that iconic F4U Corsair comes onto the screen. Robert Conrad = Baa Baa Black Sheep TV series! Cheers! T7

I do like Stacy Keach being the voice of Skipper, and it's interesting that his younger brother James Keach (was married to Jane Seymour (awesome Bond girl )) actually starred in 1 episode of Baa Baa Black Sheep. So there's a little connection between Stacy and the TV series.

Planes has been getting bad reviews. Perhaps many of us will see it differently and appreciate it. Taking the family out to watch this tonight...

Just got home from seeing it! I thought it was good! I was a little surprised Dusty went so far as to call out how nice Trippe's (the American Airlines inspired 777) paint job was! haha! A lot of neat scenes in the movie, I liked it a lot!

I enjoyed it. Too many critics are grabbing onto Cars, and yes, there are many similar cues, which brings some nice consistency between the two movies, but, this is Planes!

I took the boy to see it yesterday, I thought it was ok. My son loved it though, and thats what matters. There were alot of A380's in it but not one 747. I dont know if that was Disneys way of promoting the A380 but the 777 with then new American livery was flagrant advertising. A common thing in movies now days but I didnt mind it, like some some other movies.

I just saw it recently. My take? It felt rushed and not as deep as it could've been. It really feels the same as Cars only with planes, as an Avgeek it was a fun movie to see (I go to the theaters rarely) I can say it was a good way to pass time.

Call me crazy but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie...dunno why it has some bad reviews on rotten tomatoes or imdb

but it's a nice movie. if you really concentrate, they did some creative things like call the new American Airline 777 "Tripp" for triple 7

or if you look at the Jolly Roger symbol, the skull is a piston engine (to reference Cars) and it was called Jolly Wrenchers - the bones was replaced with 2 wrenches - I got a kick out of that. Not bad they got the squadron correct, it was a Corsair and it had a flag that said VF-17. Anyway, I would recommend it. Pretty creative.

Just came back from the theatre and I enjoyed the movie as well. I tend to not read reviews because most of the time they only praise mature, intelligent, or thought provoking movies. And for that I say "I swish my cape at you!"

Although I wasn't digging Dane Cook as Dusty.

Oh and instead of the AA livery we got a plain white and red one.
