Question Info and tips for an Atlantic cross (South America-Italy) by cruise ship

Dear friends,

I'll travel with my girlfriend to Italy on March on Costa Favolosa cruise ship, departing from Rio de Janeiro to Savona with stops at some brazilian northeastern ports, Tenerife (Spain), Funchal (Portugal), Casablanca (Maroc), Barcelona (Spain) and Marseille (France). The only of these destinations I've already visited was Funchal. Later we want to cross part of Italy by car or by train (Tuscany, Rome and Amalfi coast), fly to Lisbon and finally fly back to Rio from Paris, Frankfurt or London with TAM.

I'd like to hear from you about any information (best places to visit) and tips about these stops and especially about Italy (cable cars, trains, cheap car rental, cheap and good hotels or hostels with rooms for couples, etc). Any info about model shops at these places are welcome, too!

My cruise route:

!

Well, I visited Europe in 2006, when the currency exchange was worst for us brazilians (1 Euro = BRL 4). Now the Euro is cheaper for us (BRL 2.5)...

Dear friends,

Do you know any cheap hotel (under 50 euros) at Sinsheim, Speyer, Heidelberg or Frankfurt airport? I saw the museums site and found a package with ticket for both museums and one night at Speyer hotel for 160 euros, but my girlfriend don`t want to visit the museums (she will spend her time visiting the castles), so it`s a bit expensive for us (all we need is a bed and a clean private bathroom).

Thanks,
Daniel
