I've started experimenting with custom models. At the moment I've just been stripping off printing and paint to get used to that, but am now at about the stage that I want to start actually customising. The bad news (for me I guess) is that as 1/500 collector, this is the scale I want to customise.
I'm hoping to do some BA narrowbody Airbus's, and in particular have been deciding on donors. It looks as though the new Herpa Luftwaffe A319s will be suitable, however
the wings are painted white. So could people who have worked with Herpa white wings before please advise me on whether this white layer is part of the base coat, and therefore whether its removal will jeoperdise the whole base coat, or is it a second layer? Is it possible to respray in silver, and if so what do you recommend?
Thanks in advance for any help to a newbie custom model maker
