Default Virgin Blue 737-800 "AFL" Special scheme

Hi guys,

Well the latest special scheme to hit the skies down under!

Virgin Blue's AFL Special scheme to advertise the signing to be the airline of the Australia Football League (AFL)! The siging has caused some concern amongst AFL ranks.... but non the less here she is! Fully customized decals and the donor mdoel was a AV200 737-800!

Enjoy the photos!

You're doing an awesome job and your custom is 100% correct, but to me this scheme looks unfinished and it is the worst Virgin Blue special i've ever seen..

Why didn't they paint VH-VUY's tail and winglets in the virgin blue livery - waiting for the new livery to arrive or not.. It would have looked 100 times better IMHO

Thomas i suspect they were trying to stick it up Qantas ASAP.... as Qantas lost the AFL contract to Virgin and the CEO of virgin wanted to advertise that fact as soon as he could!

This is a very basic 'special' interim scheme as Virgin Blue is introducing a complete brand overhaul on V-Day (Valentine's Day), including a new livery. VH-VUY is a very recent acquisition so there was no point painting it in the current full livery only to change it shortly after.

Great work as always stang!

I guess it will be adjusted to the current Virgin Atlantic livery, maybe something like that:

That looks a lot better than the current livery! But they're aiming to bring Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue, and V Australia under one brand, which likely means all liveries will be similar to V Australia.

Once again, to see this model in the flesh is a sight to behold!!!. Geez you do a bloody good job Stang. Thanks again for another "Stang Clasic" for the collection. Honestly, the 1:200 model manufacturers should commission you to do "one-off" specials for them.

The tail seems to be a little too plain, but an interesting livery!
