its sent thru EMS, and EMS parcels in India take very long to clear the customs, infact get inspected first. Its because they assign a certain 'BY' number to it, and then they inspect it in order of the 'BY' numbers. Dunno what 'BY' stand for though. But mine hasnt been inspected till date, as I am in constant touch with the EMS guys. It should be inspected sometime say next week...

I know about such stories as well. But mine was sent thru EMS which is completely trackable. It has indeed arrived in my country, but is still awaiting inspection in customs. Also you wont believe it, but Fernando is constantly sending me emails on his own, like in every 3-4 days to ask if got the models, and I am replying back saying that they are in customs...

That's good for you, at least one customer that gets what he paid for! Could you please ask him to contact his other customers after months of nothing or at least to respond to this thread here again? That would be great and would help us a lot! Seems you are the only one that has the privilege to get responses.. Hope you enjoy your models!

Dear all, Fernando replied back to me. This is what he wrote in his email:

"Ok Karun,

I'll contact each person, after many personal problems, I'm back to the custom work, slow, but back."

And know what even I think about the same now. How come Fernando responds to my emails and doesnt respond to any of his other customers at the same time, well atleast those customers that are on DAC....

OK guys, the parcel from Fernando arrived today.... Heres what came in it...

Alliance Air B732

Indian Airlines B732

I know the pics are all out of focus, but that is something I could NOT fix even after repeated tries.... I am very bad a taking pics of smaller subjects like the B732 in the 400 scale... The donors were the SMAC PLUNA dual B732s set...

After exactly 7 months (yes I initiated my order on 1st July 2010, and paid in full on 4th July 2010), today being 4th Feb 2011..... I finally recvd my customs order for 2 B732s from Fernando.. all in all a good job... One is an Indian Airlines B732 and the other being an Alliance Air B732 (a later subsidiary of Indian Airlines) as it flew last before being converted to freighters for India Post.... I have some very fond memoires flying on those noisy jets from my home airport to northern and western India from the early 80s to the mid 90s...

Had in mind to get an Indian Airlines Caravelle, Viscount and DC-3 done as well, but after seeing Fernando's delivery times and reliability, I think I will wait for them to be done as mainstream releases by AC sometime...

Anyways, thats it from me right now..

Tried to contact him, ignored.. Both websites are down now. We are all fooled by this guy and our money is lost.. I would also suggest Karun to get his other customs from serious custom makers and there are some that make great customs with a reliable serivce.. I chose Fernando, because i wanted to get replicas of moulds that are not available, but if you just want customs on existing moulds/models, many can do that..

At least Fernando had a blast with our money, so one will finally be happy since 2008/09 and had a good laugh..

sorry to hear that Thomas.... Yes, now I will look for some other customs makers for my future orders... although 200 scale customs is something I have started to do myself...!! Have posted pics of my customs in the 200 scale section over the last 4-5 months in my various arrivals threads...

i provided donor models to the guy. i gave him a chance becaus he offered. i am livid (that is a few degrees up from pissed) that fernando has stolen my donors AND money. I received a few fotos of completed models and was told only two more needed completion. i have even thought of making a trip to brasil to get back what the ****er has stolen.

yes, karun, you have receive your models. but there are people, myself included, that have been waiting a few years. the lack of communication has no words to describe. this has been a hard lesson learned. at least i have found one or two good custom makers that have completed requests for me in a reasonable amount of time.

the more i think about the whole thing, the more livid i feel. i have prepared some way to take action against fernando, as i consider his actions a crime.

i would describe fernando as a cancer to the hobby, and deserves whats coming to him.

My order was also for scratch-built, I too thought he could be a source for aircraft that are unlikely to ever be made in the small scales.

The only saving grace is that I never paid him, I sent him a couple of emails saying I was happy to as the price was so low after all this time, but he didn't reply to those either!

I've had nothing from my attempts to contact him in the last couple of weeks, the website was up until at least the week before last, so I guess his hosting company ran out of patience as well!

An opportunity lost for collectors and Fernando himself who could have done a lot of business if he'd been genuine.

Please be aware that the Plunas were on the list of models affected by zinc-rot. I very much hope that your models don't ever have that problem.

So has anyone had any progress with their orders from Fernando, since his posts on this thread?

He asked me to contact him in February which I duly did and then acknowledged my reply on the 14th to say he would be in touch.

Since then radio silence has been restored and a chaser email I sent on 1st March to both his addresses has gone unanswered, so I feel like I'm back to square one!

i will say it is expected that he doesnot respond. and it is un-expected when he does.

very not happy that he can maintain contact with someone and turn around an order in 7 or 8 months, but cannot do anything for peolpe that have been waiting a few years.

I happened to read this post and I am also waiting on models I ordered last year (and for which I sent donors and money ). Once every while I send Fernando an e-mail and after some days he responds by saying that he will respond in a few days.

Still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but getting increasingly frustrated

Anybody else got any news?

Back in the beginning of 2009, I said 2009!, I sent to Fernando 2 models, scale 1:400, one for repair (Aeroclassics VARIG B 707-441 1:400 - AC18045B - ID#3891 - an expensive model) and another one for customization (SMA 732 to be customized as a Vasp aircraft).

By the end of 2010, with the precious help of Santos, Fernando sent me an email with the photos of both my models already done (the 707 was perfect, but the 732 was customized with the wrong livery). I did not complain about the mistake, I only wanted to get my models back, specially the 707!

At the time he promised to me that he would mail the models back in beginning of November 2010, but up to now (March, almost April, 2011) I haven't heard from him anymore, and I haven't got my models back!

I'm really fed up with him, and as soon as I get a break in my office I'm planning to fly to his city to get my models back personally.

I've heard nothing since my last post.

If you do, any chance you can film that for YouTube?

Perhaps you should print up this thread and ask him where everyone else's orders are as well.

I was actually going to ask Santos if he could contact him again on our behalves, as he seems to have the magic touch.
