Default Continental Hybrids

Hey guys, this is my first attempt at customization...The 737 meatball is a bit rough, but I will be fixing it. The 727 is almost done:

Lookin' good, man! I seriously can't wait to do a PE/CO hybrid 737-200 and 727-200 (I wish we had a PE 737-100 so I could do that one too!), but I'm holding out for a few cheap donors off of eBay or the trade forum (preferably around $10, but definitely under $20). I'm also too busy working on a USAir DC-9-30 and Fokker 100 in the 1990s colors. Be sure to show off that 727-200 when you get the chance!

i dunno if you are like steve who delved into 1:200 but jetx is making some meatballs...i dont know much about older airframes and liveries but it may be of interest to you dylan? smooth customs you got there though!

maybe 1:200 will help ease your eyes a bit from straining to see the details on those 400 scale models =)

I'm a big fan of 1:200 and have had these on pre-order for a spell.

Hey Dylan, is that an ex-PeoplExcuse 727? That is going to look great when you finish.

Hey Dylan,

Check the EZtoys website under Aeroclassics- they have the Continental 737 "Frontier hybrid N7371F" listed.

Tom, thanks for the heads up, but I already got it coming! I like that I now will have two versions. The Large Meatball (AC) and the slightly smaller version.

CO was hasty when repainting the FL fleet, some of the meatballs were smaller than others, and some weren't even round. One thing they all had in common: The looked like S H I T up close.

Hey Dylan, what color are you using to match the People's Express Cream color?

You don't need to match it. Just use the GJ PEOPLExpress 727-200 as a donor model, and remove the markings that aren't needed. After that, slap on the CO markings. Viola!

Ah!!! Didn't think about that one.

If I wanted to build a model of this hybrid, would you anybody know what color to use for the Poeples Express cream color?

Hey, thanks fellas! The MACRO on my camera really picks up the imperfections that are almost impossible to see with the naked eye. There is a chip of paint on the starboard-side fairing under the #2 engine on the 727. That one IS visible to the naked eye and happened as I was reattatching the vertical stab after decal application. I cried a little. These are my first two attempts at customs.....I hope to get better with time!

Thanks again for the good words guys!

Oh, the decals were done by Daniel Bronner...."DMBronner". They turned out perfectly scaled and wanna send out a big thanks to him!
