Default Dylan, you'll like this. Steve, not so much...

Not sure if anyone will want to ring my neck for this one, seeing as how only 120 of the AC hybrid USAir 737-200s were made, and I went and used one as a donor for this. But as the title implies, Dylan, you'll probably enjoy this particular custom I just finished for my collection (no eBay for this one!). But Steve, you probably won't I do like the AC hybrid USAir 732, but I really wish they had gotten the window line and stripe printing straight (it slopes downward towards the tail), or at least had painted the wing box light gray instead of leaving it bare metal/silver.

Anyway, the newest addition to my USAir/Piedmont collection is this sort of reverse hybrid 737-200 wearing the USAir 1980s three-tone red stripe, but with Piedmont titles and tail logo. I always thought that the 737-200s, -300s, and -400s that wore these hybrid colors were a bit strange since typical merger hybrids obviously carry the basic colors of the airline being taken over with the titles and tail logos of the new airline. These 737s were backwards. Not sure what the details were behind this move, but I enjoyed seeing them! Even got to fly on one of these bare metal PI 732s from SYR to BOS back in February 1989. I wish I had gotten the reg on it. Hopefully, the BTS site will add more years to the database. Clearly, USAir had WAAAAAAY too many color schemes going on between 1988 and about 1991, but it made things interesting!

That reminds me, Steve... Were you ever able to find anything out about those hybrid PI 737-300s with US titles?

Thanks, man. Nah, the donor model was the AC hybrid USAir 737-200. You know, the one with the 1980s three-tone red stripe but with the 1990s USAir titles. I've managed to pick up three of these models now (the other two will keep their USAir titles). After nabbing the third one off of eBay for only $9.99 a few weeks ago, I decided to customize it with Piedmont titles to help me complete the collection, especially since it didn't have it's numbered collector's card. The weird thing is, even though only 120 of these models were made, I've picked up three of them over the past several months(including #1 of 120). There were twice as many AC USAir 737-200s in full 1980s colors made, but I still haven't been able to pick up ANY yet. It's driving me nuts. I remember seeing a few of them in some of your SAN pics...but Dylan, you didn't buy ALL of them, did you?!
