Default 1:200 ATA America Trans Air 737-800 N301TZ

another bird dear to my heart rolls off the line. i flew on her about 3 years ago to hawaii. i love the fuselage mold of flightminiatures' 737!

Donor: Flightminiatures transavia 738
Decals: drawdecals, custom decals, avigraphics 737 detail decals

edited the winglet to be closer to the real shape.

now if flight miniatures would give me some better looking engines to work with....

Looks like your startin to stray away from having to build a hasegawa kit if you can help it (dont blame you), hehe

Nice!

oh you mean that white part in the middle? just how the decals were. actually the real bird has the stripe fade brighter in the middle.

and if you were talking about why the engines are towed outward? just part of the drawbacks of using a flightmini mold!

you got that right billay. but there are still some molds ill use a hasegawa for. give me a couple more months and ill show you guys =)

Looking good! This plane means a lot to me too as I flew on 301TZ during its 2nd-3rd week of service. MDW-LAS. In terms of ATA 738s I ended up flying on 301, 302, and 303 - at the time these were the first intro/prototype 738s for ATA and as such did not have inflight entertainment - just my luck.

service was normal. nothing much to say. the day airlines wipe your butt for you is the day when i really realize that service has gone up (actually that doesnt sound appealing to me)...otherwise its just another airline, first class or not.

If you are interested in 301TZ I commissioned Nick Knapp at Dynamic Arts Gallery to make a print of this aircraft for me. It looks awesome framed with a matte that matches ATA colors. Nick offers the print on his site for 16 GBP including shipping to the US. (Airliner Prints)

Great work! I've always wanted this too. Hopefully GJ or HG would make this...

I know I'm way late on this, but I flew ATA from HNL to LAX back in April 2006 on N319TZ, and the service pretty standard...maybe even slightly above standard. They served a complimentary snack box, which was nice to see, along with two beverage services. Seats were brown leather, and there were LCD screens that folded down from underneath the overhead bins. Perhaps it was because our flying time was a tad longer than normal due to the winds (5hr 7min), but they showed two movies aboard my flight: Cheaper by the Dozen 2, and Elizabethtown...both of which bored the crap out of me.

I have a dorky log of the flight, which is something I do for all of the flights I travel on, in case you guys want to check it out:

ATA 4754, April 9, 2006
