Looks more like a -320B or -320BAdv or -320C.

(they have completely different wings than the basic -320)

Hey Brad,
I am going to enjoy this build you are starting, always been a big fan of the 707 and I love the larger scales. if you ever need a set of JT-4's for the 1/72 plane I can give you a set if you want

Wow this looks like it will be one hell of a model. Do you find it easier to work with the larger scales, or more difficult due to the increased details? I've got a 1/100 Doyusha 747 I want to pimp out, right down to the open blow in doors on the engines.
BTW if this is your first Heller 707 build, don't forget to reinforce the wings inside. The one kit I built quickly developed "droopy wings" due to the wieght of the engines and just the sheer mass of the wings!

Thanks V1UHOH for the help. In this scale I find it so far to be a lot more dangerous to make any mistakes at all. The detail is much more noticeable and fit is a must. The dry fitting of everything must be done to the wings before anything is put on the fuselage.

Thanks,
Brad

Great work Brad!. I can hardly wait to see the finished product. I had that Heller 1/72nd 707 kit , but sold it 10 years ago. It was opened, but mint. It is a monster sized model, that much I do remember! Just curious, were did you get the decals? I remember the kit I had was issued with BOAC and Air France transfers, other kits had TWA and/or Lufthansa. I never did see a PanAm in this scale.

Thanks,

I got the decals from TwoSix Decals. The sheet has Pan Am or Pan American titles to pick from.

Hi,

Still sand-prime-sand-prime-sand...smoke. Finishing up the PW's with some inserts to hide those nasty seams. Fuselage has another coat of primer to go. Then it's time to paint the bottom silver and wings. Flaps and slats will be added after painting the wings.

This 707 will be a beauty. Brad, I have no idea if you are building this one for yourself(reading previous posts probably not) or a client, but whomever ends up with this huge model will be one happy camper!

How did you fix the "cockpit too high" problem with this kit to get the cockpit windows to line up correctly on the cheatline?

I filled and re-shaped the cockpit profile. Also the passenger windows are filled as well. They were lined up too low....I think.
