Im doing everything at once because
1.) my airbrush compressor came with a nozzle thats too small for my airhose so ill have to find an adapter and
2.) my decals havent come yet

my SQ project is on hold right now because i still havent found a hasegawa thai 772 kit to start it on yet.

no worries, one by one they will get done.

finally had some time to really sit down and push forward a little more with my model kits. so heres an update

md11 starting to look like a sample mold! haha. i totally screwed up on the horizontal stabilizers so i didnt dry fit those but will fix them later. though there are some kinks (such as somewhat visible body join line, only in certain places though) nevertheless im pretty satisfied since this is my first aircraft model. decals still arent finished yet so im still waiting on those so i can color match my eva green to the decals.other than the fact that the cockpit needs one more coat of paint, i think the decals are the only things holding me back now.

and my mango 738 build. this project is on hold indefinitely until Ray gets his printer back online if ever. sad to see it just sitting there. i cant do anymore to it without the decals. but its looking smooth no? if you ever owned a flight miniatures plastic model you know that it has alot of gaps between part joins so i filled those all in. i cant even tell it was sawed in half and messed around with before!

my eva md-90 still in its previous condition. hasnt changed. actually you can see it on the ground in the previous pic. im currently doing the wings on it. md-90s dont seem to have that much corroguard!

ive added N888YF to my list of models now since Ray cant do the mango. will do it with the same technique as the mango 738 build.
given enough time, should be a simple and quick job

after all of this time spent, my eva collection will be more complete than ever! i cant wait!

Have you ever made your own decals? You can do this instead of waiting if you like. I almost always do. Good Luck!

i probably could but dont know the quality of inkjet vs thermal printers as well as getting the size and shape down of the decals needed.

The quality is excellent. However you are correct, it is hard to size the decals.

decals finally arrived today! after how many months!? hah. twosix forgot to include one small part of the decals so i really cant complete it totally but here it is the works after all this waiting!!!
gunze sangyo green paint came out perfect right out of the bottle without any mixing in of other colors! cockpit windows were a tad big but no big deal. tail section needs more work before decals go on. twosix decals arent your normal decals, you gotta cut them all out by yourself! not precut!
still have to custom make those stabilizers that go in front where the cockpit is and couple of attachments that go on the landing gear wheels, dont know what those are for in the md90s (protection from debris?)

decals were about $17ish shipped to the USA.

i assume u want to do a 1:200 773? if so do you plan on modding your own winglets for hasegawa kits?

the fleet!

couple more minor and small edits and additions and it will be 100% complete but i couldnt resist taking pictures prematurely! dont worry, ill post final final pics once the decals that twosix missed gets here from the UK and a couple custom touches are added

in the eva world...
next job is to finish the MD-11F!! and then to get started with the 767-300ER winglets fantasy build, then the evergreen corporate 737 BBJ, then finally a 747BCF to finish off my fleet! may take forever!

anyone interested in taking the 747F and 747 off my hands? ive decided to go in favor of the collector's editions

Terrific work Kai. How were the decals? Did you have to spray bonder on them?
Does Ray put a color sheet on the decals to say what colors to use?
What are the wings in? TAMIYA sky grey w/ some white?

no bonder, just some micro sol on some places, decals are thicker than stock hasegawas and need to be individually shaped and cut out but otherwise of nice quality.

no color sheet

wings are what u mentioned. they arent totally finished yet though.

yea i did mention it a tad earlier but turns out twosix's decals are darker in green than the real eva green so Gunze Sangyo's green was perfect. ill double check the color code later if you want me to, dont have it with me right now.

well that one is a side project and im working on it here and there. theres alot of details to custom sand and shape! but the EVA in NC fantasy 763ER with winglets is next.

i suppose pictures hide the faults but this md-11 was my first model build ever so its far from perfect! haha i doubt anything i make would be up to your standards however high or low they may be.
the fedex and ups md-11s would be downright easy to make though...i am no where on the level of Brad and the other modelers over at airlinercafe.com

The MD-11 is amazing, I really like your work: complimenti!

it is tamiya flat light gray i think. XF-66 diluted and straight out of the bottle with no mixing. a little darker than you think it is, darker than whats shown in the pic.
